국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학교 전이기에 아동의 사회적 유능성에 따라 차이가 있는지 살펴보는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 초등학교 취학 전(T1)과 초등학교 1학년 말(T2) 2회에 걸쳐 유치원 담임교사와 초등학교 담임교사가 아동의 사회적 유능성을 평가하였다. 2회(T1, T2) 연구에 모두 참여한 아동 68명 (남아 34명, 여아 34명)의 자료를 대상으로, jamovi 2.3.16을 활용하여 기술통계, t-검증, 반복측정 분산분석(Repeated-Measures ANOVA)을 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 사회적 유능성은 성별과 연령에 따른 상호작용 효과는 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 사회적 유능성의 하위요인별로 살펴본 결과, 쾌활/통합은 연령의 주효과가 통계적으로 유의하였으며, 연령이 증가하면서 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 친사회성은 연령과 성별의 상호작용 효과가 통계적으로 유의하였으며, 남아의 경우 연령이 증가함에 따라 친사회성이 감소하고, 초등 시기 남아와 여아의 차이가 통계적으로 유의하였다. 그러나 우울/고립과 공격성에서는 연령과 성별에 따른 차이가 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 이상의 본 연구는 초등 전이기 아동의 사회적 유능성을 단기 종단적으로 분석하여 성별에 따른 발달적 차이를 밝히고, 이에 따른 교육적 접근이 필요하다는 시사점을 제공하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine whether there is a difference according to gender in the development pattern of children’s social competence in the period of transition into elementary schools. To this end, children’s kindergarten teachers and elementary school teachers conducted questionaries on children’s social competence before entering elementary school (T1) and at the end of first grade (T2), respectively. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, t-verification, and repeated- measures ANOVA were conducted using jamovi 23.16 for data from children’s names (34 boys and 34 girls) who participated in both T1 and T2 studies. The results of the study are as follows. First, it was found that social competence has an interactive effect according to gender and age. Second, as a result of examining each sub-factor of social competence, the main effect of age on ‘cheerfulness/integration’ was statistically significant. It was found that ‘cheerful/integration’ decreased with age. In ‘pro-sociality’, the interaction effect between age and gender was statistically significant. In the case of boys, pro-sociality decreased as the age increased, and the difference between boys and girls in elementary school was statistically significant. However, in ‘depression/isolation’ and ‘aggression’, the difference between age and gender was not statistically significant. This study is meaningful in that it revealed the developmental differences according to gender by analyzing the social competence of elementary school transition children in a short-term longitudinal manner and provided educational implications accordingly.
