초등교사의 스트레스 취약성과 스트레스 반응

국문 초록

연구목적: 이 연구는 초등교사들이 경험하는 스트레스 취약성과 스트레스 반응 및 이들의 관계를 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 초등교사 560명을 대상으로 통합스트레스검사(Integrated Evaluation of Stress and Stress Vulnerability, IESS)를 실시하여 자료를 수집하였다. 연구방법: 스트레스 취약성과 스트레스 반응 간의 상관과 성별과 나이에 따른 차이를 알아보고, 스트레스 취약성 변인들이 어떻게 상호 관련되어 스트레스 반응을 설명하는지를 알아보기 위해 군집분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 스트레스 취약성은 스트레스 반응과 정적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 성별에 따른 스트레스 취약성과 스트레스 반응은 스트레스 지각을 제외하고, 전반적으로 남자 교사보다 여자 교사가 높았으나 나이에 따른 차이는 유의미하지 않았다. 둘째, 취약성 수준에 따른 스트레스 반응은 유의미한 차이가 있었는데 취약성 수준이 높을수록 스트레스 반응이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 초등교사의 대표적인 스트레스 취약성 유형과 그에 따른 스트레스 반응의 차이를 살펴보기 위하여 군집분석을 실시한 결과, 스트레스 고위험형, 안정형, 민감형, 평범형이라는 4가지 군집 프로파일을 도출할 수 있었다. 이러한 프로파일 간에 스트레스 반응 차이는 고위험 유형에서 가장 높고 반대로 안정 유형에서 가장 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 논의 및 결론: 이 연구는 초등교사가 경험하는 스트레스 취약성과 스트레스 반응을 종합적으로 알아보았다는 점에서 의미가 있고, 이후 연구에서는 스트레스 취약성과 스트레스 반응 간의 인과관계를 가정한 연구가 필요할 것으로 생각된다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the stress vulnerability and response experienced by elementary school teachers and their relationship. Integrated Evaluation of Stress and Stress Vulnerability(IESS) was given to 560 elementary school teacher to collect data. Method: We examined the correlation between Stress vulnerability responses and differences according to sex and age. Cluster analysis was conducted to see correlation between stress vulnerability variables that explain stress response. Results: The results were as follows. First, stress vulnerability variables have a positive correlation with stress response. Second, stress vulnerability and response were higher in female teachers than in male teachers, and there was no significant difference according to age. Third, there was a significant difference in the stress response according to the level of vulnerability; the higher level of vulnerability represents higher stress response. Fourth, cluster analysis showed the four profiles named high risk type, stable type, sensitive type, and normal type. The difference in stress response was found to be the highest in the high-risk type and, conversely, the lowest in the stable type. Conclusion: It is significant that this study empirically proved investigated the stress vulnerability and response experienced by elementary school teachers. Following study is needed to examine causal relationship between stress vulnerability and response.
