국문 초록

연구목적: 본 연구의 주된 관심은 18세기 데싸우(Anhalt-Dessau)에 설립된 박애주의 학교의 교육사상과 그에 기초한 교육방법에 대해 살펴보고, 오늘날 교육에서 의미 있게 생각해 볼 수 있는 지점을 찾아보는 데 있다. 연구방법: 디지털 도서관을 통해 접근 가능한 1차 자료를 수집하고, 해석의 대상으로 활용하였다. 그를 통해 2차 자료의 한계를 보완하고 해석의 신뢰를 높이고자 하였다. 연구결과: 박애주의 학교의 교육사상은 코메니우스, 로크, 그리고 특히 루소의 영향 아래서 개인의 다양한 근원적인 힘들을 자연스럽게 발달하도록 돕고 그 토대 위에서 자유로운 사고와 행위를 할 수 있는 계몽된 시민을 양성하여 사회에 기여하는 행복한 삶을 추구하고 있다. 교육자와 동판화를 활용한 교육방법은 이러한 맥락에서 새로운 시도로 이해될 수 있다. 결론: 지적인 수업의 한계를 극복하기 위한 ‘교육자’를 통한 연습과 학습자를 고려한 새로운 교수법의 요구는 오늘날에도 시사하는 바가 있다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The main interest of this study is to examine the educational thought of the Philanthropinum established in Anhalt-Dessau in the 18th century and the educational method based on it, and to find a point that can be considered meaningfully in today s education. Method: For this purpose, it was attempted to understand the educational thought and method of the Philanthropinum through reviewing primary materials accessible from the digital library. Results: The educational thought of the Philanthropinum is under the influence of Comenius, Locke, and especially Rousseau. It emphasizes a happy life that contributes to society by helping individuals to develop their various fundamental forces naturally and by cultivating enlightened citizens who can freely think and act on that foundation. The educational method using educator and copper engraving can be understood in this context. Conclusion: The demand for a new teaching method that considers the learner and the practice through the educator to overcome the limitations of intellectual instruction has implications even today.
