국문 초록

이 논문은 단양 수양개유적의 선사문화 및 생태환경을 복합유산으로서 그 가치를 인식하고, 공동체적 의미를 공유하고, 학예기술적 중요성을 인식하기 위해서, 구석기시대 조사연구 방법론 및 이코모스(ICOMOS)의 『문화유적지 해석과 표출을 위한 이코모스 헌장』(2008)의 원칙을 기반으로 수양개선사유물전시관의 선사문화 및 생태환경 해석과 표출 개선안을 제시하고자 한다. 단양 수양개유적은 1980년 충북대학교박물관팀이 충주댐 수몰지역 조사로 처음 찾은 후, 1983년부터 2015년까지 1차부터 15차까지 Ⅰ․Ⅱ․Ⅲ지구를, (재)한국선사문화연구원이 Ⅲ․Ⅵ지구를 발굴하였다. 수양개유적은 2만년 전후의 동북아시아 후기 구석기시대 석기문화의 정수를 보여주는 유적으로 1997년 사적 제398호로 지정되었다. 이를 기념하여 2006년 수양개선사유물전시관이 건립되었고, 2013년 제13차 발굴까지 수양개유적의 조사연구 성과를 기반으로 중기 구석기시대부터 원삼국시대까지 문화층에서 출토된 선사유물을 중심으로 고환경을 부차적으로 전시하여 박물관 활동을 수행하고 있다. 앞으로 수양개선사유물전시관의 선사문화 및 생태환경 해석과 표출을 위한 최선의 방안은 수양개유적과 관련된 현재 진행형 연구 성과를 포함해서 “수양개와 그 이웃들(Suyanggae and Her Neighbors)”의 국제회의 등에서 검증된 구석기시대 조사연구 방법론 및 『문화유적지 해석과 표출을 위한 이코모스 헌장』(2008)의 원칙이 총체적으로 체계적으로 적용되어야 한다.

영문 초록

In order to recognize the value as a composed heritage of the prehistoric culture and ecological environment of Suyanggae Site, to share the meaning of the community, and to clarify the academic and technological importance of the academic and technological importance, this article attempts to suggest the improvement of interpretation and presentation of prehistoric culture and ecological environment in the Suyangae Prehistory Museum on the basis of the paleolithic survey methodology and the “ICOMOS Charter for the Interpretation and Presentation of Cultural Heritage Sites” (2008). After the team of Chungbuk National University Museum first visited to the Suyanggae Site for the purpose of the Submerged Area survey of the Chungju Dam in 1980, Chungbuk National University Museum excavated in the Loc. I, II, and III of Suyanggae Site from the 1st Excavation in 1983 to 15th Excavation in 2015, and the Institute of Korean Prehistory excavated in the Locality Ⅲ, and Ⅳ of Suyangae Site from the year of 2016. The Suyanggae Site was designated as Historic Site No. 398 in 1997, showing the essence of Paleolithic Culture of the Upper Paleolithic Age in Northeast Asia around 20,000 years ago ie. 20ka. In commemoration of this, the Suyanggae Prehistory Museum was established in 2006, on the basis of the survey results of the 13th excavation in 2013, museum activities are being carried out by exhibiting on mainly paleolithic artifacts and additionally paleolithic environment factors excavated from the cultural layers of the Middle Paleolithic Age to the Proto Three Kingdoms Period. In the future, a measure for the best interpretation and presentation of prehistoric culture and ecological environment in the Suyangae Prehistory Museum should be holistically and systematically applied to the paleolithic survey methodology validated at the International Symposium of “Suyanggae and Her Neighbours” including current ongoing research results, and the principles of “ICOMOS Charter for the Interpretation and Presentation of Cultural Heritage Sites” (2008).
