생태체험원 경험을 통한 교사 배움의 의미

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 교사로서 성장을 위해 파견제도를 활용한 유아 교사가 생태체험원에 근무하며무엇을 경험하고 배웠으며, 이러한 경험이 교사의 배움으로써 어떤 의미가 있는지 연구하는 것이다. 본연구는 10개월간 연구자 본인을 대상으로 실시하였으며 수집된 자료는 자서전적 글쓰기, 연구자저널, 연구일지, 사진, 과거 자료이다. 연구결과 첫째, 연구자는 생태체험원에서 매일 처음 만나는 다채로운 유아들을통해 유아들의 개별성과 유능함에 대해 이해하였다. 둘째, ‘생태체험’을 계획해서 가르치려다 실수를 하고내려놓기를 통해 균형을 맞춰갔다. 셋째, 자연과 관계맺음을 통해 배움의 즐거움을 느끼는 경험을 하였다. 이러한 경험을 통해 연구자는 유아들과의 만남이 이루어지는 곳에서 유아 교사로서 배움이 이어지며, 유아교사의 성장은 반복되는 경험 속 차이생성을 통한 교사 되기의 과정임을 알 수 있었다. 또한 교사의 배움은교사를 둘러싼 모든 환경과 관계 맺으며 이루어지는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study explored an early childhood teacher’s experiences and leaning at an ecological experience center as she was working in the center for 10 months. The participant was the researcher herself of this qualitative study. Data used in this stusy included autobiographical writings, researchers’ journals, daily research records, pictures, and past records of the researcher such as daily journals, personal photos, and many private materials. The results of the study are as follows. First, as a teacher working at an ecology experiencing center, the researcher was able to undertake ecology experiencing activities and meet children that changed many of the fixed perspectives of the researcher. Second, while the researcher made mistakes while planning ‘ecology experiencing activities’, the researcher was able to balance out the activities by letting the mistakes go while actively complementing them. Third, the researcher became interested in nature through ecological monitoring and being connected with nature. The experiences helped the teacher learn that the growth of a teacher for infants is a process conducted through repeated, varied experiences with infants. The participant also leaned that teacher’s learning can happen as she is making close relationships with the circumstances surrounding her as a learner.
