국문 초록

본 연구는 음악 동화를 활용한 신체표현 활동이 유아의 창의적 신체표현력과 자아존중감에 미치는영향을 살펴보는 데 그 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 광주광역시의 B 유치원 만 5세 유아 44명(실험집단 22명, 비교집단 22명)이었다. 실험집단은 음악 동화를 활용한 신체표현 활동에, 비교집단은 누리과정의 생활주제에따른 신체표현 활동에 참여하였다. 연구결과는 창의적 신체표현력의 5개 하위영역과 자아존중감의 4개 하위영역에서 실험집단 점수가 비교집단보다 유의하게 향상한 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 음악 동화를 활용한 신체표현활동이 유아의 창의적 신체표현력과 자아존중감에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것이다. 따라서 본 연구는 음악동화를 활용한 신체표현 활동이 유아의 창의적 신체표현력과 자아존중감에 미치는 긍정적 영향을 보여줌으로써 유아교육현장에서 효과적으로 이용할 수 있는 신체표현 활동을 제시하는 데 그 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of physical expression activities using musical fairy tales on young children’s creative physical expression abilities and their self-esteem. The participants of this study included forty-four five-year-old children attending B kindergarten in the metropolitan city of Gwangju (with twenty-two children in the experimental group and twenty-two children in the comparative group). The experimental group participated in physical expression activities using musical fairy tales, and the comparative group participated in the physical expression activities according to the life themes of the Nuri curriculum. The results of this study showed that scores in the five sub-categories of creative physical expression abilities and four categories of self-esteem in the experimental group were significantly improved. In essence, physical expression activities using musical fairy tales had a positive effect in improving young children’s creative physical expression abilities and their self-esteem. The results were discussed in terms of the importance of presenting physical expression activities that could be utilized in the field of early childhood education for developing young children’s creative physical expression abilities and their self-esteem.
