예비유아교사의 인권감수성과 공감능력이 다문화수용성에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 예비유아교사를 대상으로 인권감수성과 공감능력 및 다문화수용성의 수준을 알아보고, 인권감수성과 공감능력이 다문화수용성에 미치는 영향을 검증하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해전라북도에 위치한 J전문대학 3년제 유아교육과에 재학 중인 230명의 예비유아교사를 대상으로 설문조사를실시하였고, 수집된 자료는 IBM SPSS Statistics 22.0 프로그램을 이용하여 연구문제별로 기술통계, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson 적률상관관계, 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 예비유아교사의 공감능력, 인권감수성, 다문화수용성 수준의 정도는 보통 이상을 나타내었다. 둘째, 예비유아교사의 일반적 특성(학년, 다문화교육경험)에 따른 인권감수성, 공감능력, 다문화수용성의 차이를 살펴본 결과 다문화수용성만이 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 나타내었다. 셋째, 예비유아교사의 인권감수성, 공감능력, 다문화수용성간의 상관관계를 살펴본 결과 공감능력은 인권감수성 및 다문화수용성과 정적 상관관계를 나타내었다. 넷째, 예비유아교사의 다문화수용성에 영향을 미치는 요인을 살펴본 결과, 예비유아교사의 공감능력은 다문화수용성에 유의한영향을 미쳤다. 본 연구결과를 통하여 예비유아교사가 향후 다문화교육의 실행에서 중추적 역할을 수행할수 있도록 예비유아교사의 다문화수용성에 영향을 미치는 내재적 변인을 파악하여 교원양성 교육과정의보완과 다문화 교육적 지원책 마련을 위한 시사점을 제공하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze the levels of human rights sensitivity, empathy, and multicultural acceptability of preservice early childhood teachers, and to verify the impact of human rights sensitivity and empathy on multicultural acceptability. For this purpose, a questionnaire survey was conducted on 230 students enrolled in the three-year teacher preparation program at J college located in Jeollabuk-do province. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 program. Descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA, the Pearson’s correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were performed. The results of the study are as follows. First, the degree of empathy, human rights sensibility, and multicultural acceptability of the participants was above average. Second, as a result of examining the differences in human rights sensitivity, empathy and multicultural acceptability of the students according to their general characteristics (year and multicultural education experiences), only multicultural acceptability showed a statistically significant discrepancy. Third, the results of correlations among human rights sensitivity, empathy, and multicultural acceptability of the preservice early childhood teachers showed that empathy was positively correlated with human rights sensitivity and multicultural acceptability. Fourth, a factor affecting the participants’ multicultural acceptability was their empathy. The findings were discussed in terms of the importance of developing teacher preparation programs that can support teachers’ multicultural acceptability.
