국문 초록

이 글은 캐나다의 미술교육학자 얀 야고진스키(Jan Jagodzinski)가 창안한 개념인 ‘디자이너 자본주의’를 네 가지 측면에 서 검토하고, 이 개념이 미술교육 영역에 제기하는 질문들을 살펴보고자 한다. 디자이너 자본주의는 ‘겜블링 경제’라 불리는 금융자본주의의 문제 및 삶의 총체적 자본화, 기호가 지배하는 심미화된 소비자본주의의 세계, 디지털 기술과 영상 장치들을 이용한 통제, 그리고 자발적으로 지배에 순응하도록 스스로를 통제하는 주체 형성의 문제 등 오늘날 우리의 삶과 관계된 다양한 이슈들을 포괄하는 개념이다. 이러한 디자이너 자본주의에 대한 분석을 바탕으로 미술교육의 기초가 되는 감각, 지각 차원의 변형, 미술교육과 디자이너 자본주의와의 관련성, 전의식적 지배 체제 내에서 미술과 미술교육의 방향, 포획된 창의성 의 문제 등 미술교육과 결부된 질문을 찾아본다.

영문 초록

This article investigates the four aspects of designer capitalism , the concept introduced by Canadian art educator, Jan Jagodzinski, and discusses questions presented to art education through this concept. Designer capitalism is the concept encompassing diverse issues associated with our contemporary life such as capitalization of life on the whole as well as the problem of financial capitalism called gambling economy , the aestheticized world of consumer capitalism governed by symbols, control using digital technology and imaging devices, and an issue of forming the selves that control themselves to comply spontaneously with the rule. Based on this analysis of designer capitalism, this article look for questions related to art education, such as transformation of sensation and perception underlying foundation of art education, the relation between art education and designer capitalism, the direction of art and art education within the preconscious governance system, and the problem of captured creativity.
