한국 교사를 위한 교사문화신념 척도(TCBS)의 번안 및 타당성 탐색

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 교사문화신념 척도(TCBS: The Teacher Cultural Beliefs Scale)를 한국의 교사들을 위해서 번안하고 타당화하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 Hachfeld, Hahn, Schroeder, Aders, Stanat, & Kunter(2011)가 개발한 교사문화신념 척도를 번안하고, 한국 교사들을 대상으로 타당화 하였다. 교사문화신념 척도는 교사가 교실 현장에서 학생 개개인이 지닌 다양한 문화를 만날 때 지니는 개인적인 신념체계를 측정하는 검사로서 10문항으로 구성되어 있으며, 독일에서 타당성이 검증된 척도이다. 문항 번안, 문항 추가 및 선별, 예비조사를 거쳐 16문항으로 구성된 본 조사 설문지를 제작하고, 서울·경기, 충청, 영남, 호남지역의 초・중・고등학교 교사를 대상으로 조사를 실시하였다. 총 447명의 자료를 최종 분석한 결과 TCBS는 본래 다문화적 신념(6문항), 평등주의적 신념(4문항)의 2요인 구조였으나 한국 교사에게는 보편성 인식(4문항), 학생의 다양성 존중(4문항), 학부모의 다양성 존중(2문항)의 3요인 구조를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 요인분석 결과 2요인 모형보다 3요인 모형의 적합도가 높았으며, 한국판 TCBS의 모형 적합도는 초・중・고등학교 교사집단 각각에서도 양호한 것으로 나타났다. 교사문화신념은 준거 변인으로 설정된 교사의 사회정의 옹호역량, 동료의 차별행동 직면과 유의한 관계가 있었다. 한국 교사를 위한 교사문화신념 척도 개발의 의미, 활용 방안, 연구의 한계점 등을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to adapt and validate the Teacher Cultural Beliefs Scale for Korean teachers. For this, the TCBS(Hachfeld et al., 2011) was translated into Korean, and surveyed to Korean teachers and validated for Korean teachers. The Teacher Culture Beliefs Scale measures the individual belief system of teachers when they encounter various cultures of individual students in the classroom. It was composed of 10 items and validated in Germany. The questionnaire for Korean teachers, consisting of 16 questions, was produced after the translating, addition and screening, and preliminary surveys were conducted. The questionnaires was surveyed for elementary, middle, and high school teachers in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, Yeongnam, and Honam. The results of the final analysis of the data of 447 teachers showed that TCBS for Korean teachers had universality recognition(4 items), respect for students’diversity(4 items) and respect for parents diversity(2 items). The result of the factor analysis showed that the three-factor model was more fit than the two-factor model, and the model fit of the Korean version of TCBS was also good in the elementary, middle and high school teachers respectively. The Teacher Cultural Beliefs Scale was significantly related to teachers social justice advocacy competency and confronting peer s discrimination behavior set as reference variables. The implications of the Teacher Cultural Beliefs Scale for Korean teachers, the utilization plans, and limitations of this study were discussed.
