할머니를 주제로 한 국내외 창작 그림책 표지에 나타난 색채이미지 분석 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 할머니를 주제로 한 국내외 창작 그림책 표지에 나타난 색채이미지를 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 국내에서 출판되고 있는 그림책 중 할머니 인물을 대상으로 하는 20권의 창작 그림책을 선정하였다. 색채이미지 분석을 위해 표지 전체 중 비중이 가장 큰 다섯 개의 대표 색상을 추출하였고, 추출한 색채를 바탕으로 단색 이미지 스케일에 해당하는 색채이미지 형용사를 최종 추출하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 할머니를 주제로 한 국내 창작 그림책 표지에 나타난 이미지에는 ‘내츄럴한’ 색채 형용사가 가장 많이 나타났으며, 그 다음으로 ‘점잖은’, ‘맑은’, ‘우아한’ 등의 색채 형용사가 많이 나타났다. 국외 창작 그림책에서는 ‘경쾌한’이 가장 많이 나타났으며, 그 다음으로 ‘내츄럴한’, ‘모던한’, ‘맑은’ 등의 색채 형용사가 많이 나타났다. 특히 국내외 창작 그림책에서는 공통적으로 ‘내츄럴한’, ‘경쾌한’, ‘우아한’ 등의 이미지가 많이 나타난 것을 알 수 있었다. 하지만, 국내에서는 ‘은은한’, ‘점잖은’ 등의 이미지가 특히 많이 나타났으며 국외에서는 ‘다이나믹한’, ‘모던한’ 이미지가 더 많이 나타난 것을 알 수 있었다. 이상의 연구 결과를 바탕으로 할머니를 주제로 한 국내외 창작 그림책 표지에 나타난 색채이미지를 분석하고 해석할 수 있는 계기를 마련하였으며 이후 교육 현장에서 색채이미지를 활용할 수 있는 방안에 대해서도 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study would analyze the color image appeared on the cover of creative picture books from Korea, and abroad with the themes of grandmother. For this purpose, this study selected 20 creative picture books which were published in Korea related grandmother. Analysing the color image, this study had extracted 5 representative colors among the whole colors appeared on the cover, and based on the extracted colors, finally extracted and analysed the color image adjective corresponding each color image scale. This study shows that the most appeared color image adjective is ‘Natural’ on the covers of Korean creative picture books with the themes of grandmother, and the next were ‘Decent’, ‘Pure’, and ‘Elegant’. The most appeared color image adjective is ‘Cheerful’ on the covers of abroad creative picture books, and the next were ‘Natural’, ‘Modern’, and ‘Pure’. Especially, this study shows that the image of ‘Natural’, ‘Cheerful’, and ‘Elegant’ were commonly appeared on the covers of creative picture books from Korea as well as abroad. However, ‘Ambient’, and ‘Decent’ were particularly appeared on the covers of creative picture books from Korea, whereas ‘Dynamic’, ‘Modern’ were appeared more from abroad. Based on the result, this study would offer a chance to analyze, and interpret the color images which were appeared on the covers of creative picture books with the themes of grandmother from Korea and abroad, and would suggest a way how the color images are utilized in the education field.
