국문 초록

최근 미술교육은 디자인, 건축, 문화예술 등의 다양한 분야와의 융·복합적 영역의 확대와 인 성교육으로 교육방향의 변모를 시도하고 있다. 이와 함께 미술교육과 교사의 전문화에 대한 문제가 야기되고 있으며, 교육프로그램 개발에 대한 연구가 활발히 전개되고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 교육현안의 해결방안으로 공간인식교육의 도입을 시도하였으며, 국내 초·중·고등학교 교육현장에서의 실질적 적용을 위한 교과운영체계의 기초적 틀을 마련하고자 하였다. 관련 문헌연구를 통하여 공간인식 교육프로그램의 교육목표를 설정하였으며, 공간인식의 인간과 물리적 공간간의 관계적 상호교류에 입각한 사회·문화적 측면이 반영되었다. 이를 구현하기 위한 교과구성요건과 학습내용을 비롯하여 과제시행 방법 및 구체적 과제유형이 도출되었다. 주요 연구결과는, 학습내용에 있어 공간인식의 다양한 방법에 대한 체험 학습을 중심으로 인 간과 주변 환경간의 상호교류에 대한 이해, 기능공간인지, 오감을 통한 공간체험, 성장단계에 따른 공간의 선입견을 통한 가치관과 자기이해로 구성되었다. 과제유형에는 버스여행, 현장답 사, 도시공간체험, 저널쓰기 등이 제시되었으며, 주요 과제 수행방법은 관찰, 기록, 분석이다. 교수전략에는 강의, 질의응답, 발표, 토론 등이 활용된다. 이 연구는 공간인식교육 프로그램이 공간에 대한 올바른 인식 방법에 대한 다양한 체험 학습의 잠재적 가능성을 제공하고, 자기 이해와 자아정체성 발견을 위한 융합교육과 인성교육의 본질을 구현하는 미술교육의 학제 간 소통적 범위의 확대에 기여하게 될 것으로 기대한다.

영문 초록

This study explores the instructional systems and guidelines to teach various perspectives of perception of space for the K-12 education in Korea. Literature review and content analysis were conducted for the theories of definition of space, elements of space perception and the application of space education in various classroom settings. Theoretical framework of this study is that space perception needs to be understood as an expression of relationship between human and the surrounding environments and that it creates prejudices on space reflecting life history and values. Factors affecting the way we interact with the space are illustrated as preliminary information, indirect or repeated experience, education, and psychological reaction. The instructional guidelines presented in this study was designed in terms of missions and goals, course contents, types of assignment, execution of the program, methods of space perception to be applied, and teaching strategies. Major outcomes of the study is that the goals and expectations of the instruction is to enhance; 1)understanding of the relationship between human and the environments, 2)recognition of different categories of space and its function, and 3)exploring various methods of experiencing space by seeing, smelling, hearing and touching, and in result to comprehend students’ life history and values developed through experiences of space. Specific course assignments are; 1)bus trip assignment, 2)field trip to residential, commercial, and public space, 3)observations on cities and streets by different transportation methods, 4)writing journals on memorable or preferred space. Each assignments are required to include observation, documentation, and analysis. The guidelines presented in this study are recommended to apply selectively according to the levels of the students, and as an independent or integrated course depending on the needs of the course content.
