미술치료 관점에서 본 집의 심리적 의미: 장욱진의 작품을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 한국현대미술에 표현된 집의 심리적 의미를 탐색하고, 미술치료 관점에서 장욱진의 작품에 내재 한 그의 심리적 특성을 살펴보고자 한다. 끊임없이 집을 주제로 그림을 그린 장욱진은 거주지에 따라 작품 세 계가 변화될 정도로 실제로 집에 대한 애정이 각별하였다. 본 연구에서 분석한 장욱진의 집 그림은 시대적 흐 름에 따라 변화된 세 가지 주제를 중심으로 살펴보았고, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫 번째, 집은 보호공간으로서 전쟁과 위험 환경으로부터 보호해줄 수 있는 내적 공간이자 그의 공포나 불안 심리를 감싸주는 모성적 역할을 하였다. 두 번째, 집은 가족 관계의 정신적 표상을 나타낸 것으로, 가족에 대한 그의 애착과 분리라는 양가적 감정을 드러냄으로써 가족을 사랑하지만 어린 시절 아버지의 부재로 인한 결핍으로 책임을 다하지 못한 죄책 감을 덜게 해주었다. 세 번째, 장욱진의 집은 한국 전통 자연관에서 비롯된 정체성을 표현한 것으로, 이상적인 세계로 생각해오던 향토적인 자연을 통하여 마음의 편안함을 얻고 비로소 자신의 정체성을 통합하게 되었다. 이상으로 본 연구결과를 통하여 장욱진의 집 그림에 내재한 심리적 의미를 살펴보고, 미술치료적인 관점에서 집이 지니는 치유적인 요인을 도출할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the psychological meaning of the house as expressed in Korean contemporary art and to analyze the artworks of Ucchin Chang from the perspective of art therapy. Ucchin Chang, who constantly worked on the subject of the house, showed his affection for the house so much that the perspectives on his artworks changed according to his residence. In this study, artworks on Ucchin Chang's house based on three main themes that changed according to the flow of times, and the results are as follows. First, as a place of protection, the house played a maternal role to cover his fear and anxiety because it was an inner space that could protect him from war and dangerous environments. Second, by expressing the emotional feelings of his affection for and separation from his family, he did not fulfill his responsibilities to his family. Third, it his works express the identity that originated from the traditional Korean view of nature, and through the local nature that has been considered as a part of the ideal world, he has acquired peace of mind and integrated its identity. As a result of this study, the psychological meanings inherent in the artworks of his house were examined and the healing factor of the house was understood from the perspective of art therapy.
