신라의 삼국통일 전후처리와 통일인식

국문 초록

이 글은 신라가 643년에 인식한 삼국통일전쟁의 연속성, 660·668~669년에 진행한 양국 멸망 전후처리의 관계를 검토하고, 양국 평정 교서의 함의를 통해 신라의 삼국통일 인식을 논의하였다. 신라는 중고기 전반 삼국정립을 추구하였다. 삼국정립은 삼국 공존을 인정하고, 신라의 삼국 항쟁 주도권 확보, 신라 우위의 삼국 관계 정립에 목적이 있었다. 643년 신라는 전쟁 목적을 삼국정립에서 양국 멸망·평정으로 전환하였다. 따라서 신라의 삼국통일전쟁은 연속성을 가지고 있었다. 이것은 삼국통일전쟁 전후처리에 영향을 미쳤다. 668년 신라는 양국 멸망에 대한 헌부례를 시행하였다. 669년 신라는 양국 평정 교서·사면령을 반포해 나당전쟁을 대비하였다. 양국 평정 교서 반포의 함의는 신라의 양국 멸망·평정 인식을 삼국통일 인식으로 전환했다는 점에서 찾을 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study examines Silla's perception in 643 of the continuity of the wars leading to the falls of Baekje and Goguryeo and the relationship between the handling of the aftermath of their downfall in 660 and 668-669. It also studies Silla's perception of the unification of the Three Kingdoms through the implications of the decree issued after conquering of the two kingdoms. During the early Middle-Acient (中古) period, Silla strove for the triangular position of the three kingdoms. Its intention was to recognize the coexistence of the three kingdoms, secure Silla's hegemony over the wars, and establish Silla's dominance in the relations among the three kingdoms. In 643, Silla shifted its war objective from the triangular position to the conquest of the two kingdoms. Therefore, Silla's wars to overthrow the two kingdoms had continuity. This influenced the post-war handling of the War of Unification of the Three Kingdoms. In 668, Silla conducted heonburye offering prisoners to royal ancestral shrine and commemorating the fall of the two kingdoms. In 669, Silla promulgated the decrees notifying conquest of the two kingdoms and amnesty orders to prepare for the Silla-Tang War. The implication of the promulgation of the decree can be found in the fact that Silla's perception of the fall and conquest of the two kingdoms was transformed into a recognition of the unification of the Three Kingdoms.
