삼국통일전쟁의 軍事史的 연구와 역사적 함의

국문 초록

본 고찰은 7세기 후반 삼국의 격변과 삼국통일전쟁이 지니는 군사사적 연구에 대한 의미를 개관한 것이다. 일반적 시각으로서 軍事나 軍事史는 무엇이며, 군사사적 고찰을 통한 역사적 의미는 무엇인지 살폈으며, 구체적인 역사적 사건으로서 삼국통일전쟁에 대한 군사사적 고찰의 의미를 분석하였다. 삼국통일전쟁과 나당전쟁의 승자로서 신라에 대한 정확한 이해를 위해 신라의 국력, 신라의 육군과 수군, 그리고 전략과 전술 등에 대하여 접근하였고, 이를 통해 신라가 역사의 승자로서 당당히 자리할 수 있었음을 논증하였다. 더하여 현재의 군사사 연구가 지니는 한계에 대해서도 언급함으로써 균형적 시각을 가질 수 있도록 서술하였다. 흔히 인간의 역사는 전쟁의 역사라고 한다. 우리의 역사 역시 예외는 아니었으며, 『삼국사기』 등에 전하는 수많은 전쟁 관련 기록들은 그것을 증명해 준다. 그러한 점에서 7세기 동아시아는 전쟁의 세기였으며, 우리는 그러한 전쟁의 당사자로서 역사의 중심에 존재했음을 확인할 수 있다. 여수전쟁, 여당전쟁, 삼국통일전쟁, 나당전쟁 등이 그것이다. 이러한 전쟁들이 지니는 의미에 대하여 일찍부터 고찰이 진행되어 왔으며 역사적 의의나 한계가 살펴졌다. 한국 고대사에 있어 가장 큰 역사적 전환점이 되는 삼국통일전쟁에 대해서도 많은 고찰이 진행되었고 그 결과 민족문화의 토대가 구축되었다는 역사적 의의가 제시되었으며, 역사학계는 물론 일반 대중도 공감하는 통설적 견해로 자리하고 있다. 하지만 그러한 역사적 인식과는 별개로 그 고찰 과정에 있어서의 아쉬움은 존재한다. 삼국통일전쟁이 오늘날의 세계대전에 버금가는 전쟁이었음에도 불구하고 직접적으로 관련되는 전쟁사를 중심으로 한 군사사 시각의 접근이 부족하기 때문이다. 그렇기에 7세기 한반도의 삼국과 동아시아 세계에 대한 올바른 역사 인식을 위해서는 정밀한 군사사적 고찰이 진행되어야만 한다. 이것이 군사사적 고찰이 지니는 근본적 의의라 할 수 있다. 고찰을 통해 군사사에 대한 이해 확대는 물론 삼국통일전쟁과 삼국통일이 지니는 역사적 의의에 대한 이해가 한 단계 깊어질 수 있으리라 생각한다.

영문 초록

This study outlines the significance of the military historical ancient temple of the upheaval of the Three Kingdoms and the unification war of the Three Kingdoms in the late 7th century. In Chapter Ⅱ, we looked at the general view of military and military history, and in Chapter Ⅲ, we looked at the historical significance of military history by military historical considerations, and in Chapter 3, we looked at the meaning of military historical considerations of the Three Kingdoms War. As the winner of the Three Kingdoms Unification War and the Silla-Tang War, he examined Silla's national power, Silla's army and naval forces, strategies and tactics, and proved that Silla was firmly established as the winner of history. In addition, the limitations of current military history research were also mentioned to give a balanced view. Through the study, we hope that we will not only expand our understanding of military history, but also deepen our understanding of the historical significance of the Three Kingdoms War and the unification of the Three Kingdoms. It is often said that human history is the history of war. Korean history is no exception, and numerous war-related records handed down in “The Three Kingdoms' History” prove this. In this respect, East Asia in the 7th century was a century of war, and we were at the center of history as parties to such wars. These include the Goguryeo-Sui War, the Goguryeo-Tang War, the Unification War of the Three Kingdoms, and the Nadang War. The meaning of such a war has been examined early on, and historical significance and limitations have been presented. Although the historical significance of the Three Kingdoms Unification War, which is the biggest turning point in Korean ancient history, has been suggested, it has become a common view that not only historical scholars but also the general public sympathize with it. However, apart from such historical perceptions, the process of consideration remains unsatisfactory. This is because, despite the fact that the War of the Three Kingdoms was a war comparable to the modern world war, there is a lack of direct access to military history centered on the history of the war. Therefore, in order to properly recognize the history of the three countries on the Korean Peninsula and the East Asian world in the 7th century, precise military historical considerations must be conducted. This can be said to be the fundamental significance of military historical considerations.
