글로컬 시민성 함양을 위한 주제 중심 교양교육 실천 - <지역리서치 기반 문화예술교육> 운영 사례를 중심으로

국문 초록

이 연구는 세계화와 지역화를 동시에 이루어 나가기 위한 글로컬 시민성 함양에 주목하여 대학교양교육의 실천 사례연구이다. 연구의 내용과 방법은 ‘글로컬라이제이션(Glocalization)’의 의미와 이를실현하기 위해 주제 중심 접근 지역리서치 기반 문화예술 활동의 의의를 이론적으로 고찰하고, 이연구자가 주제 중심 접근 교양 교과목 <지역리서치 기반 문화예술교육>을 개발하여 운영한 실행연구이다. ‘왜’, ‘무엇을’, ‘어떻게’ 교육되어야 하는가에 초점을 두고 분석한 연구 결과를 통해 지역리서치활동을 통해 학생들이 자신이 살고있는 지역에 관한 관심을 유발함으로써 글로컬 시민성의 의미를탐구하고 그 성과를 도출한다. 학습자 스스로 지역이 안고 있는 문제들을 발견하고, 세계 공통으로지역에서 일어나는 공동체 문화와 관련된 주민들의 애로점과 드러나지 않는 이슈들을 탐색하고, 탐색과정에서 조사한 자료들을 예술창작 활동으로 결과물을 공유한다. 학생들은 자신이 속한 지역에 대한지리적, 경제적, 그리고 정책적인 상황을 리서치함으로써 단순히 지역의 문제만이 아닌, 기후 환경문제, 전쟁, 지나친 자본주의 발달 등으로 일어나는 세계적 이슈로 확장하는 과정을 가진다. 이 과정에서함께 살아가는 지구촌의 문제들의 원인을 이해하고 해결하기 위해 갖추어야 하는 시민성을 고민하고필요성을 공감할 수 있다. 이 연구를 통해 주제 중심 접근의 교양교육으로 이루어지는 문화예술활동은지역과 세계가 공통으로 안고 있는 문제를 드러내고 표현하도록 함으로써 소외된 주민들의 애환을공감하도록 해준다는 점에서 글로컬 시민성 함양을 위한 교양교육의 방법적 대안이 될 수 있음을시사한다.

영문 초록

This study is a practical study that aims to explore why it is necessary for instructors to cultivate a sense of glocal citizenshipamong their students so that they can achieve both sense of globalization and localization at the same time. It also aimsto discover what liberal arts education should pay attention to and how it can be practiced in universities. The content andmethod of the study theoretically examines the meaning of ‘Glocalization’ and the significance of subject-oriented, regionalresearch-based culture and arts activities. This study draws the results of the analysis by focusing on why, what, and how,and the case of operating a subject-oriented course developedby myself as a liberal arts curriculum at M University is presented. Through the research results, this study confirmed thatby inducing students' interest in the areas where they live, learners can discover the problems of the region on their ownand can gain a better understanding of such problems, as well as see how seemingly local, cultural problems are sharedby the world at large. Furthermore, by grasping the geographical, economic, and policy situations of their regions, studentscan gain a wider perspective on matters such as the climate, wars, as well as conflicts between various races, regions, andcountries which are caused by excessive, capitalistic development over the world. This study finally suggests that art creationbased on local research can be a methodical alternative to cultivating a practical sense of glocal citizenship in that culturaland artistic activities, which consist of subject-based approaches for liberal arts education, reveal and express problems thatthe region and the world have in common.
