신임교원 교수지원을 위한 강의개선 컨설팅 모형 개발 - 수업만족도에 대한 학습자 인식분석을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 수업만족도에 대한 학습자 인식분석을 통해 신임교원의 교수지원을 위한 강의개선컨설팅 모형을 제안하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 S대학교 신임교원의 34개 전공수업을 수강하는 대학생856명을 대상으로 수업만족도에 대한 설문을 실시하고, 독립표본 t검증 및 Welch's t 검정과 질적분석을통해 이들의 인식을 분석하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 신임교원 수업 만족도에 있어서 ‘교수자의 열정’과 ‘학생질문/의견에 대한 관심과 대답’이 높은 평균을 보인 반면 ‘수업 난이도의 적절성’과‘수업진행 속도 및 과제부담의 적절성’이 상대적으로 낮은 평균을 보였다. 둘째, 수업크기 및 수업형태에따른 수업만족도 차이를 분석한 결과, 수업크기에 따라서는 차이가 없었으나 수업형태에 따라서는강의식보다 토론식의 평균이 유의하게 높았다. 셋째, 집단(수업 만족도 상/하)에 따른 문항별 평균차이를 분석한 결과, 11개 모든 항목에서 유의한 차이가 있었으며, ‘수업난이도의 적절성’, ‘과제/시험피드백의 유용성’과 ‘이러닝 매체 및 장비 활용’, ‘수업내용 요약/정리’가 상대적으로 큰 평균 차이를보였다. 또한, 질적분석 결과, 만족도가 높은 수업에서 상위 4개 항목에 대한 교수전략을 도출하였다. 마지막으로 이러한 결과를 토대로 신임교원에 대한 교수지원 개선방향을 도출하여 강의개선 컨설팅모형을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to develop a consulting model for teaching improvement to support new faculty membersby analyzing learners’ perceptions of class satisfaction. For this purpose, a survey was conducted with 856 university studentstaking 34 major courses taught by new faculty. The students’ perception was analyzed using an independent samples t-test,Welch's t-test, and qualitative analysis. The main findings are as follows. First, among the class satisfaction items, the averagesregarding ‘passion of the instructors’ and ‘answers to students’ questions & interests in their opinions’ are relatively higher,while those concerning ‘adequacy of difficulty level’ and ‘adequacy of class pace and task burden’ are lower than others. Second, no significant difference exists in class satisfaction based on the class size. However, a significant difference wasfound when comparing two class formats. The average of the discussion class is significantly higher than that of the lecture-basedclass. Third, when comparing high and low class satisfaction groups, significant differences were found in all 11 items. There were relatively larger average differences in ‘adequacy of the difficulty level’, ‘usefulness of task & test feedback’,‘utilization of e-learning media & equipment’, and ‘summary of contents’. Additionally, teaching strategies were derivedfrom the lectures with higher students’ satisfaction. Lastly, this study suggests some directions to be taken when it comesto teaching competency development for new faculty and proposes the consultation model for improving their classes andcompetencies.
