국문 초록

본 연구는 메타버스 활용 한국어 수업에 대한 교사들의 인식 및 의지를 확인하여 메타버스 활용한국어 수업의 가능성을 확인하고 메타버스 활용 한국어 수업의 실현과 지속가능성을 위한 교사 교육의방향을 모색해 보는 데에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 한국어 교사를 대상으로 메타버스활용 한국어 수업에 대한 교사 교육을 진행하고, 교사 교육 전후에 설문을 실시하여 메타버스 수업에대한 이해도와 필요성, 어려움, 활용 의지, 지원 방향 등의 변화를 확인하였다. 연구 결과 교사들은메타버스에 대한 이해 부족과 기능 조작 미숙, 교육기관의 시스템 문제 등으로 수업에 메타버스를전혀 활용하고 있지 않으나 추후 메타버스를 자신의 수업에 활용하고자 하는 의지가 높았으며 메타버스에 대한 후속 교육에 대한 요구도 높음을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, 한 번의 교사 교육만으로도 메타버스기능에 대한 이해도가 높아지고, 메타버스 기능 조작에 대한 부담감이 크게 감소했음을 확인한 만큼,추후 연계성 있는 교사 교육을 통해 한국어 교사들의 디지털 활용 능력을 제고하고 한국어 교육에메타버스 기술의 도입을 촉진할 수 있을 것으로 본다.

영문 초록

This study investigated the potential of metaverse-based Korean language education by examining teachers’ perceptionsand willingness to adopt metaverse technologies in their teaching. Additionally, the study proposes directions for teachertraining to facilitate the implementation and sustainability of metaverse-based Korean language education. To achieve theaims of this study, a teacher training program on metaverse-based Korean language education for Korean language teacherswas conducted. Pre- and post-training surveys were administered to assess changes in the teachers’ understanding, perceivednecessities, challenges, willingness to adopt the technology, and desire to support future metaverse-based classes. The resultsshowed that while teachers currently do not utilize metaverse technologies in their classrooms due to factors such as theirlimited understanding of the technology, inadequate technical skills, and institutional system issues, they expressed ahighdegree of willingness to incorporate metaverse technologies in their future teaching. Additionally, there was a strong demandfor follow-up training when it comes to the metaverse. The study also found that a single teacher training session significantlyreduced teachers’ perceived burden regarding the understanding and use of metaverse functionalities. Therefore, this studysuggests that continuous and coherent teacher training programs can enhance Korean language teachers’ digital literacy andpromote the adoption of metaverse technologies in Korean language education.
