근이영양증 대학생의 생애사 연구

국문 초록

연구목적: 이 연구는 근이영양증 대학생의 생애를 조명하기 위하여 수행되었다. 연구방법: 수집 자료는 Mandelbaum(1983)이 제안한 삶의 영역, 전환, 적응이라는 틀에 기초하여 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 삶의 영역의 차원에서는 연구참여자가 헌신적인 부모의 양육으로 성장하였으며, 장애에 대한부정적 생각은 없었음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 전환 차원에서 연구참여자는 윤리 교사와의 만남과 인간적 교류로교사라는 진로를 결정하였으며, 삶을 포기하고 싶은 순간이 있었으나, 부모 및 또래의 지지로 역경을 극복하였음을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 적응의 차원에서는 연구참여자가 행복, 긍정적인 자세, 그리고 가족 및 친구를 삶의 중요한 가치로 인식하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 결론 및 논의: 이 연구에서는 부모, 또래, 그리고 교사의 관심과 지지는 근이영양증 학생의 삶에 긍정적인 요인으로 작용할 수 있음을 시사하고 있다.

영문 초록

Purpose: This study was conducted to shed light on the life of college student with muscular dystrophy. Method: The collected data were analyzed based on the framework of life domains, transitions, and adaptation proposed by Mandelbaum (1983). Results: First, in domains, it was found that the study participant grew up with devoted parenting and did not have negative thoughts about their disability. Second, in transitions, it was found that the study participant's meeting with an ethics teacher as well as human interaction served as major opportunities for career decision-making, and that although there were moments when he wanted to give up on life, he overcame adversity with the support of his parents and peers. Third, in adaptation, the research participant recognized happiness, positive attitude, and family and friends as important values in life. Conclusion: This study suggests that interest and support from parents, peers, and teachers can be a positive factor in the lives of students with muscular dystrophy.
