국문 초록

현재까지 상고한어의 복자음 유무에 대해서는 견해가 일치되지 않았지만 諧聲, 대역음, 친족어 등 다양한 증거를 통해 대부분의 학자들은 상고한어 시기 복자음이 존재하였음을 인정하고 있다. 특히 복자음의 존재를 인정하는 견해에서 연면어는 중요한 근거가 되는데, 疊韻 연면어의 두 번째 음절이 유음인 연면어가 높은 비율을 차지한다는 점은 복자음의 존재를 증명해 주는 중요한 근거가 되고 있다. 이에 따라 현재까지 관련 연구에서 연면어가 복자음의 분화로 형성되었다는 점을 논의하기는 하였으나 복자음이 연면어로 분화된 음변과정을 구체적으로 분석한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 따라서 본고는 《廣雅疏證》 중 두 번째 음절이 유음인 疊韻 연면어를 대상으로 복자음과 C-l-/ C-r-式 연면어의 음의관계를 분석하였다. 본고에서는 鄭張尙芳(2013)의 상고음체계를 참고하여, C-l-/ C-r-式 연면어를 K-l-/K-r-식 연면어, Q-l-/ Q-r-식 연면어, P-l-/P-r-식 연면어, S-l-/ S-r-식 연면어로 세부적으로 분류하였으며, 연면어들이 복자음으로부터 분화된 음변과정을 함께 살펴보았다.

영문 초록

Binomes(聯綿詞) have been extensively discussed in various studies as evidence of the existence of initial clusters(複輔音) in Old Chinese. Notably, binomes with the second syllable being consonant “r-” or “l-” have been particularly emphasized and utilized as evidence for the study of initial clusters. As a consequence, the prevailing consensus among scholars posits that binomes emerged through the division of initial clusters. However, the specific phonetic processes that led to the evolution of binomes from initial clusters remain a relatively understudied aspect. This paper aims to meticulously analyze the C-l-/C-r- binomes found within the compilation “Guangyashuzheng(廣雅疏證)”, a repository containing a plethora of binomes from the Old Chinese period. Guided by the theoretical framework of Zheng-Zhang Shangfang's Old Chinese phonology, this study undertakes the task of categorizing the binomes into discrete groups: K-l-/K-r- binomes, Q-l-/Q-r- binomes, P-l-/P-r- binomes, and S-l-/S-r- binomes. Through a comprehensive analysis, the paper delves into the intricate phonetic relationships that exist between binomes and initial clusters. As a result of this extensive examination, it becomes evident that certain binomes indeed emerged through the fragmentation of initial clusters. This substantiates the necessity for further refinement of our comprehension of the initial cluster system within Old Chinese linguistic structures.
