학생들의 비정형 그래프 구성 및 해석에 관한 사례연구

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 고등학교 1학년 4명의 학생들에게 임상면담을 실시하여 이들이 비정형 그래프를 구성하고 해석하는 방식의 특징을 살펴보고, 학생들 간의 차이를 생성하는 요인을 밝히고자 하였다. 그 결과, 학생 A1은 그래프의 해석과 구성 모두에서 증가 추세만을 주목하였고, 학생 B2는 축에 해당하는 양을 몇 개의 덩어리로 잘라서 다루었다. 학생 B3은 처음에 학생 B2과 유사한 반응을 보였으나 해석 과제를 수행한 후 구성 과제를 적절히 수정하였고, 학생 D1은 연속 변동(Thompson, 2011)에 대한 사고를 바탕으로 모든 과제를 적절히 수행하였다. 학생들의 이러한 차이는 1) 한 양에 대한 자발적인 분할 생성 가능 여부, 2) 연속적으로 변화하는 한 양에 대한 매끄러운 사고의 가능 여부, 3) 한 양에 대한 무한소 크기의 재귀적인 분할을 생성할 수 있는지의 여부에 따라 발생하였다.

영문 초록

In the present study, we conducted clinical interviews with four 10th grade students to investigate the characteristics of how they construct and interpret informal graphs and to identify the factors that generate differences among the students. As a result, student A1 focused on only increasing aspects of change in both construct and interpret of graphs, and student B2 handled the quantity on an -axis in several chunks. Students B3 initially reacted in a similar way to student B2, but she appropriately corrected her graphs right after performing interpretation tasks. Student D1 was able to properly perform all of the tasks based on the continuous variation(Thompson, 2011). We conclude that these differences among the four students occurred as results of: 1) the ability to generate partitions of a quantity spontaneously, 2) the ability to smoothly think of a continuously changing quantity, and 3) the ability to divide a quantity into recursive partitions, scaled to an infinitesimal size.
