국문 초록

광복 이후 한국문학 논쟁은 정치적인 담론의 흐름에 크게 좌우될 수밖에 없었다. 친일잔재와 봉건잔재의 청산, 국수주의 배격과 민족국가 수립의 전망과 가능성이 어느 시대보다 높았던 과도기적 상황에 놓여있었기 때문이다. 광복 직후부터 문학의 정치성 문제가 대두한 것도 이 같은 맥락에서였다. 특히 좌익과 우익의 대립과 투쟁은 이념과 미군정에 대한 현실적 인식 그리고 정치적 전망에 따라 뚜렷하게 차별되었는데, 이는 세부적인 문학론을 구축하는 데에서도 여지없이 드러났다.이 글에서는 좌우익의 민족문학 논쟁을 다루었는데, 당시 가장 대척적인 입장에서 부딪쳤던 논쟁이었던 것을 감안하면 이것이 양측의 현실인식과 전망을 보다 예각화하여 보여줄 수 있다고 판단하였다.광복 직후에는 좌우익의 논쟁보다는 좌익 내부의 논쟁이 주로 진행되었다. 발빠르게 조직을 정비한 좌익측이 민족문학과 프롤레타리아 문학을 놓고 주로 갈등하는 상황이었고, 우익측은 이에 적절하게 대응하지 못하는 처지였다. 그런데 시집 응향 사건을 계기로 좌익측이 문학과의 투쟁을 선언하고 이에 대한 우익측의 비판이 본격화되면서 논쟁은 격화된다. 좌익측의 논리가 혁명의 성격과 주체의 역량을 고려하는 과정에서 주로 상황에 의해 좌우되었다면, 논쟁을 주도하였던 김동리를 비롯한 우익측의 논리는 좌익의 민족문학과 차별성을 강조하며 나름의 체계를 쌓아나갔다고 볼 수 있다.그러나 좌우익의 민족문학 논쟁은 생래적인 한계를 띠는 것이었으니, 미군정의 정책과 주변 정세의 변화에 재단되는 측면이 지배적이었다는 점이다. 다시 말해 정상적인 논쟁 과정 속에서 생산적인 비판과 지향이 이루어진 것이 아니라 상황에 제약된 측면이 농후하였다. 특히 남한만의 단독정부 수립은 이전의 모든 논의를 수면 아래로 가두어버렸던 것이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 민족문학 논쟁은 좌우익의 문학적 지향성을 가장 집약하여 보여준 논쟁이란 점과 민족문학에 대한 이해를 심화했다는 점, 이후 논쟁의 이론적 토대를 구축했다는 점 등에서 주목된다.

영문 초록

The Korean literature argument could not but be influenced greatly in current of political discourse since liberation. Because view and possibility of remainders of pro-Japanese and rid of feudalism, nationalism rejection and nation-stage establishment were in the transition period which was highest in period. Specially, confrontation and tussle of leftist and right-wing were differentiated to ideology and realistic realization of U.S. Armed Forces and according to political views, this constructs detailed theory of literature. Leftist internal tussle was gone mainly than left and right column's argument immediately after liberation. Quickly formed leftists organization was in discord with nation literature and proletarian literature and rightists were unable to deal with this case. But the poetical works ‘Eunghyang' event made leftist to declare tussle from literature and argument was hardened as right-wing's criticism is regularized. If it was influenced by circumstance mainly in process that logic of leftist considers personality of revolution and capacity of subject, right-wing's logic emphasizes leftist's nation literature and distinction including Kim-Dong-Re led the conflict and was building up there own systems. However it seems that a view which was limited in a certain circumstance that productive criticism and intention were not attained in normal argument process. Specially, establishing only South Korea’s government has confined all previous discussions downward the surface of the water. Nevertheless, nation literature argument is given left and right column’s intensive point to literature and comprehension about nation literature and also constructed theoretical foundation of argument since.
