시 텍스트 이해 학습에서 ‘저자에게 질문하기 방법(QtA)’의 적용

국문 초록

이 글은 ‘저자에게 질문하기 방법(QtA)’을 소개하고 시 텍스트 이해 학습에 적용하여 교육적 의의를 살피는 데 목적이 있다. QtA는 학습자가 저자의 입장에서 텍스트를 읽고 다른 독자들과 토론하면서 의미를 구성하도록 유도하여 개별 독자의 텍스트 이해력을 길러주기 위한 교수-학습 방법이다. 이것은 텍스트를 읽을 때 독자의 머릿속에서 일어나는 예상(anticipation)과 회고(retrospection)의 사고 과정을 언어화하도록 함으로써 학습자가 텍스트 해석의 전략을 배울 수 있도록 구안되었다. QtA는 ‘텍스트 읽기-질문 만들기-토론하기’의 3단계로 이루어지며 독서 중 활동에 집중된다. QtA의 교육적 의의를 살피기 위하여 초등학교 6학년 학습자의 시 텍스트 이해 학습에 이 방법을 적용하였다. 참여자들은 탐구 질문을 만드는데 어려움을 느꼈으나, 교사가 제시한 탐구 질문과 사고 구술(think-aloud)을 통해 이를 해소하였다. 또한 참여자들은 탐구 질문을 해결하는 과정에서 시의 장면과 상황, 분위기 및 시적 화자의 심리 상태 등 시 텍스트의 문면에 드러나지 않는 내포적 의미를 효과적으로 구성하였다.

영문 초록

This article suggested that QtA can be a meaningful method for poetry instruction which can help students poetry text understanding deeply. I applied QtA to a small group to appreciate two poems and give them strategies. QtA is intended to foster the individual reader’s understanding of the text and make readers’ building the meaning from texts. It means to induce the teaching and learning methods learning QtA readers while reading the text from the perspective of the author, and discussing with other readers. Readers of text semantic configuration and interpreting strategies to language learning by the expected anticipation and retrospection retrospective thinking process which takes place in the reader’s head. therefore students can get the meaning when they read texts. QtA has three steps to apply; building reading stance, making queries, discussing with other readers. Making Queries is the major factors in the configuration and the teachers and learners with the process of solving them, naturally the discussion between the learners have to convince. If necessary, teachers should show think-aloud about building meaning strategies while reading in order to learners refer thinking process indicated. I presented two example instruction and learning through discourse among learners, through specific examples presented.
