甲骨文에 보이는 商나라의 農業生産 技術 고찰

국문 초록

본고에서는 商나라 甲骨文의 기록과 傳來文獻 및 考古學 보고서의 내용을 대조하여 商나라 農業生産 技術의 내용과 특징을 살펴보고 있다. 고대에는 농업 생산성이 매우 낮고 고대인들의 농업 생산능력도 극히 미약했는데, 자연계의 재해를 견디지 못하고 농작물의 수확을 보장할 수 없을 때는 샤먼의 여러 가지 샤머니즘적 행위에 의존하여 자연을 지배하거나 현실의 제약을 극복하고자 하였다. 商나라 甲骨文에서 보이는 農業生産 技術과 관련된 많은 占術活動의 기록들은 원래 샤머니즘적 활동의 범주 중 하나에 속하였지만, 다른 한편으로는 商나라 농업생산 기술의 眞面目을 생생하게 묘사하고 있다. 본고에서는 商나라 甲骨文에 보이는 기록을 바탕으로 1년 농업생산 작업의 기본적인 순서에 따라 商나라 農業生産 技術의 발전과 그 특징을 살펴보고 있다. 먼저, 󰡔詩經･良耜󰡕의 기록과 藁城 臺西村 商代 고분, 新干 大洋洲 商代 고분, 殷墟 婦好墓 등지에서 출토된 유물로 판단했을 때, 商나라 사람들은 農業生産 작업에서 이미 靑銅 농기구를 사용하기 시작하였음을 알 수 있다. 그리고 商나라 農業生産 技術의 발전으로는, 잡초제거인 ‘蓐’과 벌목인 ‘柞’ 등의 황무지를 개간하는 농업기술; ‘相田’과 ‘田’ 등의 토질평가; ‘(協)田’ 및 ‘牛耕’을 통한 토지경작; ‘屎田’ 등의 거름주기; ‘大田(甽)’ 등의 관개시설; 곡물파종 및 商王의 農事儀禮 참여; 농작물 수확, 곡물저장, ‘省廩’을 통한 곡물관리 등의 農業生産 技術이 확인된다. 위에서 언급한 내용을 통해 商나라는 이미 집약적인 農業生産 技術을 갖추고 있었을 뿐만 아니라, 後代에 보이는 발전된 경작기술의 기본적인 틀을 이미 정립하였음을 알 수 있다. 이러한 상황은 商나라의 사회적 생산을 촉진하는 데 커다란 역할을 했을 뿐만 아니라, 또한 이것을 바탕으로 고도의 商나라 문명이 탄생하게 되었다.

영문 초록

The main thesis of this article is to use the records of Shang Dynasty oracle bones inscriptions, and to confirm each other with the records of traditional documents and archaeological reports, to discuss the content and characteristics of agricultural production technology in the Shang Dynasty. In ancient times, when productivity was very low, its own ability was extremely weak, and when it was unable to resist the hazards of nature, and could not guarantee the harvest and harvest of labor, it relied on the various shamanistic activities of shamans to achieve control of nature or change the status quo of suffering. Because of the many divination activities related to agricultural production technology seen in the oracle bones inscriptions of the Shang Dynasty, it originally belonged to one of the categories of shamanistic activities, but on the other hand, it vividly described the true face of the agricultural production technology of the Shang Dynasty. This article is mainly based on the records of the oracle bones inscriptions in the Shang Dynasty, according to the basic sequence of agricultural production work in a year, to discuss the progress of agricultural production technology in the Shang Dynasty and its characteristics. First of all, from the record in the Shijing Liangsi, as well as the relics unearthed in the Taixi Shang Tomb in Gaocheng, the Dayangzhou Shang Tomb in Xingan, and the Fuhao Tomb in Yinxu, Shang Dynasty people have begun to use copper farm tools in agricultural production activities. In addition, in terms of the advances in agricultural production technology in the Shang Dynasty, Shang Dynasty already had improved some agricultural production technology, such as reclamation of wasteland, evaluating the quality of the field, plowing of the field and the way of ‘cow farming’ may have appeared in the Shang Dynasty, fertilization on the field, irrigation and water diversion, grain seeding and farming customs that the king of Shang personally participated in, grain harvest and storage, etc. From this, we can know that the Shang Dynasty has formed a relatively complete set of production technology of intensive farming, which basically laid the framework of farming technology in later generations. It played a great role in promoting the social production of the Shang Dynasty, and on this basis, the splendid Shang civilization was born.
