국문 초록

『翰苑』의 구성을 살펴보면 다른 지역에 비해 東夷 지역에 대한 관심이 높다. 동이 지역과 관련하여서는 7세기 당시 존재하고 있던 국가들 뿐 아니라 부여, 삼한 등 이미 존재하고 있지 않은 정치체들을 아울러 서술하고 있다. 또한 동이지역의 부여ㆍ삼한ㆍ고려ㆍ신라ㆍ백제 등 5개 편목 사이에는 부여→고구려, 삼한→신라 및 백제의 계승 관계가 설정되어 있다. 편찬 당시 동이 지역에 존재하고 있던 국가에 대한 관심의 범위가 그 역사적 계승에까지 닿아있었던 것이다. 결국 『한원』의 편찬 과정에서는 ‘역사적 삼한’과 ‘현실적 삼한’ 인식이 혼재될 가능성도 있었지만, 찬자는 ‘삼한’에 대해 면밀하게 분석하고 대응하는 대신 상대적으로 내용 파악이 용이한 사서를 중심으로 삼한 편목을 구성하였다. 그것은 漢의 계승을 통한 中華 재건을 표방하던 수ㆍ당대 대외인식을 반영하는 것인 동시에, 아직 동이 지역에 대한 종합적 이해에 이르지 못하던 상황을 반영해준다.

영문 초록

Looking at the composition of Hanwon, it is found to show a higher interest in the region of Eastern Barbarians(東夷) than in other regions. Regarding the region of Eastern Barbarians, not only the countries that existed in the 7th century, but also the political bodies that already ceased to exist, such as Buyeo and Samhan, were described. In addition, it established a succession relationship from Buyeo → Goguryeo, Samhan → Silla and Baekje among the five of Buyeo, Samhan, Goguryeo, Silla, and Baekje in the region of Eastern Barbarians. At the time of compilation, the scope of interest in the countries that existed in the region of Eastern Barbarians reached its historical succession. In the end, the author of 『Hanwon』 would have had no choice but to organize a compilation on Samhan focusing on history books that were relatively easy to grasp instead of closely analyzing and addressing ‘Samhan’ after thinking over the difference between ‘Historical Samhan’ and ‘Real Samhan.’ It reflects the external perception in the Sui and Tang Dynasties that advocated the reconstruction of China(中華) through the succession of Han(漢), and at the same time reflects the situation in which a comprehensive understanding of the region of Eastern Barbarians was not yet reached.
