특성화고등학교 여학생의 아르바이트 실태와 권리 인식

국문 초록

아르바이트를 하는 청소년의 비율이 높아지고 있으나 낮은 임금, 서비스영역에의 구조적 편중, 고용주와의 정당한 관계확보가 어려운 상황 등으로 인해 청소년 노동에 대한 법적 보호의 중요성이 증대되고 있다. 선행연구에서는 특성화고등학생이 일반계 고등학생보다 아르바이트 경험이 많고, 여학생들이 남학생보다 노동권리에 대한 인지가 유의하게 낮은 것으로 나타나고 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 특성화고등학교 여학생들의 아르바이트 실태와 권리인식을 분석하기 위해 시행되었다. 2018년 11월 22일부터 12월 9일까지 서울소재 특성화여자고등학교 2개교 재학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 일반적 특성, 아르바이트 경험과 영향, 아르바이트 권리인식과 부당처우 경험에 대해 조사한 223부의 설문결과를 분석하였다. 통계분석 방법은 빈도, 백분율, 평균과 표준편차, 독립표본 t검정(independence t-test)과 일원배치분산분석(one-way ANOVA)을 실시하였으며 사후검정은 Bonferroni 검정을 실시하였다. 연구대상자의 87.4%는 고등학교 진학 이후 아르바이트를 시작하였고, 노동권리 관련 교육을 받은 비율은 57.5%로 나타났다. 아르바이트를 하게 된 동기는 용돈과 사회경험을 위해서였고, 아르바이트 직종은 서빙 및 주방업무가 많았다. 아르바이트로 인한 부담은 크지 않았으며 아르바이트 권리인식은 높은 것으로 나타났다. 아르바이트 기간이 길고 아르바이트 권익에 대한 교육을 받은 학생들의 아르바이트 권리 인식이 높게 나타났다. 또한 근로계약서를 작성한 학생들이 작성하지 않은 학생들보다, 4대 보험에 가입한 학생들의 권리 인식 정도가 그렇지 않은 학생들보다 높은 것으로 나타났다. 아르바이트로 인한 신체적, 정신적 부담이 저학년에서 유의하게 높게 나타났으므로 저학년부터 아르바이트 관련 생활지도와 교육이 필요하다. 또한 아르바이트 동안 안전사고 경험이 많은 데 비해 청소년 대상의 아르바이트 안전교육이 부족한 상황이므로 일터에서 발생 가능한 문제를 예방하기 위한 안전교육이 필요하다. 특히 공적 보험 등 노동 권리 관련 기본 지식이 부족하므로, 부당 노동행위로부터 청소년들을 보호하기 위해서는 아르바이트 권리인식을 높일 수 있는 체계적인 교육이 필요하다.

영문 초록

The importance of legal protection against youth labor is increasing due to low wages, structural bias in the service sector, and difficulties in securing legitimate relationships with employers. In particular, characterization high school students have more part-time experience than general high school students, and female students have significantly lower awareness of labor rights than male students. Accordingly, this study was conducted to analyze the status of part-time jobs and rights recognition of female students in characterization high schools. A survey was conducted on students enrolled in two characterization women’s high schools in Seoul from November 22 to December 9. The results of 223 questionnaires on general characteristics, part-time job experience and influence, recognition of part-time job rights, and unfair labor were analyzed. As for the statistical analysis method, frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation, independent t-test and one-way ANOVA with Bonferroni test were performed. 87.4% of the study subjects started part-time jobs after entering high school, and 57.5% of them received education related to labor rights. The motivation for working part-time was for pocket money and social experience, and part-time jobs had a lot of serving and kitchen work. The burden of part-time jobs was not severe, and part-time job rights recognition was high. Students who had a long part-time job period and received education on part-time job rights showed high recognition of part-time job rights. In addition, students who wrote labor contracts and students who subscribed to the four social insurances showed high recognition of their rights. Since the physical and mental burden of part-time jobs was significantly higher in the lower grades, daily life guidance and education related to part-time jobs are required from the lower grades. In addition, part-time safety education is needed to prevent safety accident at work. In particular, since there is a lack of knowledge related to labor rights such as social insurance, systematic education to raise recognition of part-time job rights is needed to protect unfair labor practices.
