국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 세 권의 국내 미술품 수집가의 에세이 분석을 통해 미술품 수집의 의미를 탐색하는 것이다. 방대한 자료를 객관적인 기준으로 압축하기 위해 텍스트 마이닝 기법을 통해 고빈도 단어를 추출하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 크게 두 단계의 질적 분석을 실시하였다. 첫 번째 단계에서는 개별 수집가 분석을 통해 수집가별 미술품 수집 경험의 주제와 범주를 도출했으며 총 8개의 범주와 17개의 주제를 얻었다. 두 번째 단계에서는 개별 분석을 통해 도출한 주제와 범주를 통합 분석하여 미술품 수집 경험의 의미를 탐색하였다. 그 결과, 미술품 수집이 단순히 미술품이라는 물질적 대상을 수집하는 것을 넘어, ‘기억의 수집’, ‘관계의 수집’, ‘하나됨’, ‘가치의 수집’, 그리고 ‘감각적 탐미’로 이어진다는 점을 발견하였다. 이 연구는 미술 향유 연구 및 수집 연구를 확장하였다는 점에 의미가 있으며 미술 애호의 본질을 이해하는 데 도움을 줄 수 있다.

영문 초록

In this study, we explored the meaning of art collecting behavior through three essays by art collectors in Korea. In order to compress an amount of material in an objective way, we used text-mining method to extract high-frequency words from each of the essay. Based on this, we conducted a qualitative analysis of two major steps. In the first step, the themes and categories of art collecting behaviors for each collector were derived through individual collector analysis, and a total of 8 categories and 17 themes were obtained. In the second step, the themes and categories derived through individual analysis were integrated and analyzed to derive the meaning of the art collecting behavior. As a result, the meaning of art collection was defined as ‘collection of memory’, ‘collection of relationships’, ‘becoming one’, ‘collection of value’, and ‘sensory aestheticism’. This study is meaningful in that it extends the study of art enjoyment and the study of collections, and it can help to understand the essence of art enthusiastic behavior.
