국문 초록

본 연구는 ‘북 콘서트’ 활동을 글쓰기 과정에 편입시켜 글쓰기 교육의 방향을 재고하는 데 목적이 있다. 북 콘서트 활동은 학생들의 비판적 사고를 향상시키고 독서와글쓰기에서 멀티 리터러시 능력을 유도할 수 있었던 수업 사례이다. A 대학의 ‘읽기와 토론’ 수업에서 적용했던 ‘독서 토론’을 활용하여 B 대학의 ‘창조적 사고와 글쓰기’ 수업에서 ‘북 콘서트’의 형태로 적용하였다. 모둠 활동으로서 조마다 한 편의 텍스트를 선정하고 이를 소개하는 방식으로 활동을 유도하였는데, 이 과정에서 학생들은 텍스트를 ‘이해하고 분석하고 평가’한 후 이를 청중에게 ‘전달하고소통’하는 목적을 달성하기 위해 ‘다시쓰기’를 수행할 수 있었다. 글쓰기 수업의 목적이 단순히 ‘글 쓰는 기술’을 배우는 것이 아니라 ‘사고’와 ‘표현’ 의 방법을 찾는 것임을 고려하면서, 본 연구는 글쓰기가 단순히 메시지를 전달하는도구가 아니라, 미디어와 같은 비언어적 도구를 활용하여 ‘이야기’를 재구성하는 개념까지 확장될 수 있어야 함을 제안하였다. 글쓰기 개념의 유연한 대응이 있을 때, 글쓰기 교육 또한 4차 산업 시대에 필수적이고 적응력 있는 교양교육 과목으로 정착할수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This study examines the direction of writing education by incorporating the “book concert” activities in a writing process. The “book concert” activities were proved to enhance the students’ critical thinking and elicit their multi-literacy capabilities in reading and writing. This study was indebted to the “reading debate” activity conducted in “Reading and Discussion” class at University A; its learning strategy were modified for and applied to a writing class called “Creative Thinking and Writing” at University B as a form of a “book concert.” In the class, students are asked as a group to select a book and introduce it to the class. The study showed that the book concert activities allowed the students to “understand, analyze, and evaluate” the text and preform “rewriting” to achieve the goal of “transmission and communication” for their audience. Considering that the purpose of writing is to explore ways of “thinking” and “expression” rather than to simply learn its technology, the study suggests an extension of the concept of writing which includes a construction of “stories” using non-lingual tools like media, not merely a medium to deliver messages. This study suggests more flexible conception of writing in classroom, which will lead writing education to be located as a necessary and more adaptive subject of General Education in the Fourth Industrial Revolution era.
