발달장애아동의 감각통합기능과 일상생활활동에 대한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 발달장애아동의 감각통합기능 및 일상생활활동 특성과 둘 간의 상관관계를 분석함으로써 발달장애아동을 위한 효과적인 치료중재 방법을 구안하는데 기초 자료를 제공하고자 실시되었다. 이상의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 부산과 울산지역 언어치료실 및 아동발달센터, 대학병원, 장애인복지관에 다니고 있는 만 5세에서 7세의 발달장애아동 부모(N-147)를 대상으로 설문지법을 통해 조사·분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 발달장애아동은 감각통합기능이 전반적으로‘확연한 문제군’에 속하였으며, 하위 영역 중 특히 촉각 민감성, 맛/냄새 민감성, 청각여과하기, 시각/청각 민감성에서 연령이 향상되어짐에 따라 감각통합기능이 좋아지는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 장애유형에 따라서는 하위 영역 중 청각여과하기와 시각/청각 민감성 영역에서 지적장애 아동의 감각통합기능이 전반적 발달장애 아동보다 다소 좋은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 발달장애아동의 전반적 일상생활활동은 4가지 영역(식사, 위생관리, 착탈의, 배변조절 및 화장실 사용) 모두 50~60%의 수행정도를 보임으로써 일상생활활동 수행능력이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 하위 영역 중 식사하기와 배변조절 및 화장실 사용 영역이 위생관리 및 착탈의 영역보다 다소 수행능력이 좋았다. 한편 일상생활활동의 4가지 영역은 모두 연령이 증가할수록 수행능력이 향상되었으며, 장애유형 중 전반적 발달장애 아동이 지적장애 아동보다 일상생활활동 수행능력이 더 좋은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 발달장애아동의 감각통합기능과 일상생활활동은 감각통합기능이 높을수록 일상생활활동 수행능력은 높고, 감각통합기능이 낮을수록 일상생활활동 수행능력이 낮은 양의 상관관계가 있었다. 본 연구결과를 종합해볼 때, 발달장애아동을 대상으로 조기에 감각통합훈련을 실시하되 각 장애가 나타내는 고유한 특성과 감각통합기능 특성을 반영하여 일상생활능력 향상을 위한 감각통합훈련을 실시할 필요성이 있겠다. 즉 청각과 시각 영역에서의 민감성을 보이는 전반적 발달장애 아동에게는 그러한 감각 자극을 조절한 감각통합활동이, 소근육에서의 문제를 많이 보이는 지적장애 아동에게는 그러한 영역의 활동을 적용한 감각통합활동이 요구된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to compare SI(Sensory Integration) function with Performances of ADL(Activities of Daily Living) according to sex, age, and type of disability of CDD(Children with Developmental Disabilities) and to analyze correlation of them. The subjects of the research were 69 pervasive developmental disorders and 78 Children with Intellectual Disabilities aged 5 to 7 years. In order to get information, I distributed the questionnaire speech-language treatment center, children development center, university hospital and handicapped welfare center in Pusan and Ulsan and carried it out children’s parents. The result of this study were as follows;First, there were 1 percent of statistical significant differences in tactical sensitivity, taste/smell sensitivity, auditory filtering, visual/auditory sensitivity, and total score according to age of children. And then, the result of comparison showed 5 percent of statistical significant differences in auditory sensitivity and visual/auditory sensitivity with type of disability. Second, there were 5 percent of statistical significant differences in the analysis of performances of ADL according to age and type of disability with CDD. And according to their age, the more grew old, the more increased their abilities in all categories. But according to type of disability, there were no statistical significant differences in all categories. Third, The correlation of SI function and Performances of ADL with CDD showed that there were 0.1 percent of statistical significant differences between 7 categories, total score of SSP and 4 categories, total score of PEDI(self-care). That is to say, the lower SI function, the lower Performances of ADL and the higher SI function, the higher Performances of ADL. The conclusion was showed that when CDD get SI Treatment, teacher and therapist consider their age and type of disorder. Also, when CDD get training of ADL, teacher and therapist consider their sex, age and type of disorder. And I think that When CDD get training of ADL, if teacher and therapist consider the SI function of CDD, the ADL ability of CDD will improve.
