국문 초록

본고의 목적은 교양 국어 수업에 있어 미디어 리터러시 교육의 필요성을 밝히는 데에 있다.미디어 리터러시는 디지털 정보 사회에서 살아가기 위한 필수 능력이며,특히 교양 국어로서의 이공계 글쓰기는 변화하는 시대에 발맞추고자 하는 목적에서 비롯되었기 때문이다. 먼저 교양 국어 수업은 학술적 글쓰기의 기반을 제공한다는 점에 주목하였다.이에 따라 논리적인 쓰기를 위해서는 읽기가 전제되어야 하며,읽기·쓰기의 디지털화에 주목하여 글쓰기 수업에서 ‘읽기’ 차원의 미디어 리터러시 교육이 수행되어야 함을 서술하였다.또한 이공계 글쓰기 수업에서 제공하는 디지털 매체 ‘쓰기’ 교육에 매체 ‘읽기’ 교육을 더함으로써 미디어 리터러시 능력을 함양할 수 있다는 점을 논하였다.마지막으로 급속도로 변화하는 과학적 사실 관계의 변화를 미디어 리터러시의 교육으로 포함함으로써 학생들에게 능동적인 자료 탐색 및 정보의 신뢰도 평가의 필요성을 메타적으로 제시할 수 있음을 서술하였다. 매체적 맥락을 읽고 비판적 사고를 배양하는 미디어 리터러시 교육을 병행함은 정치적 사회화로서의 의사소통 능력의 함양을 추구하는 교양 국어 수업의 목적과 효용성에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

This article aims to clarify the need for media literacy education in Korean language as a liberal arts course. Media literacy is an ability that is necessary for living in a digital information society, and this is especially true for science and engineering writing in the Korean language as a liberal arts course; this is because we want to keep pace with the times. First, Korean language as a liberal arts course provides the basis for academic writing, and for logical writing, reading is a prerequisite. Therefore, focusing on the digitization of reading and writing, media literacy education in the “reading” dimension must be carried out in writing lessons within Korean language as liberal arts courses. In addition, media literacy abilities can be cultivated by adding the training in digital “writing” media and in “reading” media provided in science and engineering writing classes. Finally, by including the rapidly evolving development of scientific affairs in the education of media literacy, it is possible to meta-present the need for lively and active navigation of references and evaluation of information credibility. It is expected that the education of media literacy, which cultivates critical thinking in the context of the media, will contribute to the purpose and usability of the Korean language as a liberal arts course, which pursues the development of communication ability as a type of political socialization.
