안도 다다오 미술관 건축에서 나타난 장소성에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 나오시마 프로젝트 중 안도 다다오 건축공간에서 파생된 건축과 장소 간의 상호 영향과 결과적으로 혁신된 건축의 장소적 요소들을 살펴보는 것을 중점적으로 다룬 연구이다. 본 연구자는 침체 되었던 지역 경제가 문화예술의 섬이란 고부가 가치의 경제 사이트로 급부상시킨 나오시마(直島)프로젝트에서 새삼 주목을 끈 안도 다다오 건축의 장소적 본질들을 구체적으로 분석하는데 논의의 중심을 맞추고자 한다. 안도 다다오의 건축은 미술관 건축물에서 그 지역의 자연과 전통 문화‧역사‧제도‧관습 등의 삶의 방식들을 존중함으로서 고유한 장소적 문화 속성의 특정성을 형성하였다. 세부 연구 방법으로는 안도다다오 건축의 특성에서 나타나는 장소성에 주목하며, 나오시마의 베네세 하우스 미술관과 지중(地中)미술관을 표본 대상으로 안도 다다오의 건축에 나타난 장소성을 중심으로 해석하여 논의하고자 한다. 이 연구에서 가장 두드러지는 것은 나오시마의 지형적 특성인 섬의 자연환경과 지역 문화의 고유성 등의 장소성을 참조한 건축이 거둔 성과로 섬 전체를 열린 문화예술 공간으로 실현 시켰다는 점이다. 아울러 자연과 인간, 사회와 소통하는 장소적 상황으로 설계된 건축이 확장된 지평 위에서 지속 발전적 효과가 될 수 있음을 입증해 보이는 연구이다.

영문 초록

This study focuses on examining the mutual influences between architecture and place derived from the space of architecture by Tadao Ando and consequently innovated architectural place elements in the Naoshima Project. The researcher plans to focus on the specific analysis of the place properties of Tadao Ando s architecture, which attracted attention when the local economy, which had been stagnant, emerged as a high-valued economic site called the Island of Culture and Arts during the Naoshima Project. Tadao Ando s architecture developed specificity of unique place cultural properties as he showed his respect on the local life style such as the nature, traditions, culture, history, institutions, customs, etcetera. of Naoshima region. As a detailed research method, this paper intends to analyze and discuss the placeness appeared in the architecture of Tadao Ando with Benesse House Museum and Chichu Art Museum of Naoshima as samples, while focusing on the placeness that appears in the characteristics of the architecture of Tadao Ando. Above all, this study emphasizes the achievement of the architecture referring to the placeness such as the island’s natural environment that is the geographical properties of Naoshima and the uniqueness of the local culture, which developed the island entirely into an open cultural art space. In addition, this study proves that the architecture designed as a place situation communicating with nature, human and society can be an effect for sustainable development on an extended horizon.
