온라인 예배와 교회 변화에 대한 신학적 연구

국문 초록

최근 우리는 온라인 예배를 통해 우리는 교회의 외형이 변하고 있다는 것을 감지할 수 있다. 소형 교회들은 문을 닫았고, 메가 처치(Mega Church)만이 재정을 유지하고 있다. 이와 같은 변화 상황을 고려해 볼 때 교회의 외적 형태가 변화하는 것을 보고 교회의 본질이 변한다고 할 수는 없다. 하지만 온라인 예배를 통해 우리가 가지고 있던 교회의 개념이 무너지고 있다. 시간과 공간의 제약 없이 참여할 수 있는 온라인 예배의 특성이 한국 교회와 성도, 성직자들에게 어떤 영향을 줄지는 아직도 미지수이다. 2천 년이 넘게 생존해왔던 교회가 온라인 예배와 코로나19라는 팬데믹 상황으로 인해 붕괴되어 사라지게 된다면 우리에게 남는 것은 무엇인가? 지금까지 교회의 본질과 다양한 변화 양상을 통해 우리가 추구한 것은 교회의 변화이며 교회의 새로움이다. 본 연구에서는 온라인 예배가 바꾸어놓을 한국 교회의 변화를 예측하고 이에 대한 신학적 성찰을 시도하였다. 80년 전 우리나라에 ‘무교회주의’ 운동을 일으킨 김교신 선생의 교회와 신앙에 대한 기록 등을 통하여 앞으로 나타날 온라인 교회와 온라인 종교 활동에 신학적 근거를 찾아보았다. 무교회주의의 근본 정신인 예수 그리스도와 함께하는 성도의 삶이 구현될 때 시간과 공간을 뛰어넘는 전적 기독교인들이 나타날 것이다. 이들이 모인 집합과 단체가 교회의 양육과 돌봄의 기능까지도 가질 수 있다면, 교회론이 달라져야 한다. 교회의 형식과 제도에 매몰되지 않고, 진정한 복음과 예수 그리스도와의 연합을 꿈꾸는 기독교 신앙이 있는 곳이 바로 교회가 될 것이다.

영문 초록

Recently we can sense through online worship that the appearance of the church is changing. Small churches are closed, and only Mega Churches are maintaining their finances. Given these changes, the nature of the church cannot be changed by seeing the external form of the church change. However, the concept of the church we had is collapsing through online worship. It remains to be seen how the nature of online worship, which allows participation without restrictions on time and space, will affect Korean churches, saints and priests. If the church, which has survived for more than 2,000 years, collapses and disappears due to online worship and the Corona 19 pandemic, what remains for us? So far, what we have pursued through the nature of the church and through various aspects of change is the change of the church and the novelty of the church. In this study, we predict things in Korean churches that online worship would change and tried to reflect on them. Through Kim Kyo-Shin’s church and records of faith, which started the “church-free” movement in Korea 80 years ago, we looked for theological basis for the upcoming online churches and online religious activities. When the life of the saints with Jesus Christ, the fundamental spirit of apostolicism, is realized, the full identity of Christians beyond time and space will appear. If the groups and organizations they gather can even have the functions of raising and caring for the church, the church theory should change. It will be the church where there is a Christian faith that is not buried in the form and system of the church, but dreams of true gospel and union with Jesus Christ.
