국문 초록

본고는 ‘재후(災後)’ 혹은 ‘재간(災間)’을 맞이한 사회와 그 문학적 대응인 재난서사 영화 신카이 마코토 감독의 <너의 이름은.>과 <날씨의 아이>를 대상으로 하여 그 작품 속에 나타난 신화적 상상력과 무녀의 역할을 분석하고 검토한 것이다. <너의 이름은.>에서는 『니혼쇼키』에 등장하는 시토리노카미의 아메노카가세오 퇴치 신화, 무스비(産霊/結) 신앙이, <날씨의 아이>에서는 ‘하레온나(晴女)’와 신토(神道)적 신앙 요소가 스토리를 관통하는 주요 요소로 작용하고 있다. 각각 두 작품의 주인공인 미쓰하와 히나는 영화에서 무녀로 설정되는데 이들은 신―인간, 신의 세계―인간의 세계, 피안―차안의 경계를 이어주는 매개체의 역할을 한다. 이와 더불어 히나는 희생의 시스템 속에서 인간 제물로 희생되는 역할을 수행한다. 두 영화에서는 당사자―비(非)당사자, 시스템 내부인―외부인의 이항대립이 꾸준히 드러난다. 신카이 감독은 영화를 보는 관객에게 재난사회를 살아가는 현대인들에게 앞으로 어떻게 살아갈 것인가 질문을 던지면서 희생의 시스템에 의존하지 않는 우리가 나아가야 할 지점을 보여주고 있다.

영문 초록

This paper is an analysis and review of a disaster society facing ‘post-disaster’ and ‘between-disasters’ and its literary counterpart under the theme of the mythical imagination and the role of a Miko in Makoto Shinkai’s Movies and . There were main factors that penetrate the stories: the myth of Shitori-no-kami’s eliminating Ame-no-Kagaseo in “Nihon Shoki” and Musubi(産霊/結) Faith in , and religious elements of ‘Hareonna(晴女)’ and ‘Shinto (神道)’ in . Meanwhile, Mitsuha and Hina, the main characters of and are set up as Mikos-female shaman-in the film. They serve as intermediaries for the boundaries between gods-human, gods-world-human, and afterworld-this world. Also, Hina plays the role of being sacrificed as a human sacrifice in the system. The two films consistently reveal the binary confrontation between the parties versus non parties and the insiders versus outsiders of the system. Director Shinkai asks the audience how to live in this disaster society from now on and showing us where we should move on without relying on the system of sacrifice.
