연구개발투자 및 설비투자와 고용창출, 그리고 기업성과에 대한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 사회와 그 사회를 구성하는 구성원의 존속과 행복을 위해 기업이 성장 발전해야 한다는 가장 기본적인 전제를 가지고, 기업 및 국가발전에 있어 그 상당한 파급효과를 미치는 고용창출을 중심으로 그 의미를 확인한 후 현재 진행되어지고 있는 인위적인 인력구조조정에 대하여 고용의 창출이 기업성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 결과를 제시함으로써 인력구조조정에 대한 추후 정책적 방향을 제시하고자 시도되었다. 고용증가율을 중심으로 기업성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 연구개발투자와 설비투자가 고용증가에 미치는 영향을 먼저 살펴본 후 고용증가와 기업성과의 연관성을 T기∼T+2기까지 3기간에 걸쳐 확인하였다. 실증분석 결과 연구개발투자는 당해의 고용증가에만 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 설비투자의 경우 분석 전 기간에 걸쳐 고용의 증가와 긍정적인 관련성을 가진다는 결론이 도출되었다. 그리고 고용증가와 기업의 성과 사이의 관련성을 확인한 결과에서는 기업성과로 이용한 변수 모두 전 기간에 걸쳐 유의한 양(+)의 관련성이 확인됨으로써, 고용이 증가할수록 기업의 성과가 좋을 것이라는 본 연구의 가설을 강하게 지지하였다. 이는 최근 들어 인건비 절감을 위해 기업들이 시행하고 있는 인력구조조정에 대한 찬반 논란의 실증적인 근거자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이며, 정부가 기업의 현금 및 이익잉여금에 대해 환류세제 혜택 등을 부여하며 연구개발투자와 설비투자를 적극적으로 독려하는 현 상황에서 연구개발투자와 설비투자가 인력투자와의 긍정적인 상호 작용을 통해 기업성과를 증가 시킨다는 결과를 제시함으로써 기업들이 연구개발투자와 설비투자에 자본을 투하해야 하는 유인을 제공해주는 데 본 연구의 결과는 그 의미가 있다고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study focuses on employees who perform the most important role in consumption and production by expanding research on existing R&D investment and capital investment. The purpose of this study is to verify about the virtuous circulation of economy coming from the relationship between extension of these investment and increase of employment. It has been confirmed the association with between employment growth and finance performance for 3 parts of period from T to T+2 after understanding that the R&D and capital investment affect the increase in employment, which is the positive effect on financial performance of the company, focusing on employment growth rate. In this empirical study, it has been shown that R&D investment has the positive effect to the increase of employment in that years which are invested. When it comes to capital investment, it has the positive relevance to the increase of employment for the entire periods invested. And the relevance between the increase of employment and corporation performances has shown that they have the meaningful positive relevance for the entire periods. Futhermore, both R&D investment and capital investment with hiring employees make better performances than they do without hiring employees. This study can support the meaningful model to corporations how and where they have to invest in for their future performances. Recently, most corporations introduce the regular early retirement program in order to cut off the labor cost with the excuse of the uncertain economy and business environment. However, This study could apply to the corporations’ strategic model of investment on both R&D, capital investment and employment as well.
