국문 초록

본 연구는 당뇨병환자들의 건강정보활용능력, 질병관련지식, 자기효능감 및 자가간호행위 정도와 이들의 관계, 영향요인을 파악하고자 시도된 서술적 조사연구이다. 연구결과는 질병관련 지식에 영향을 주는 요인은 건강정보 활용능력이며(β=0.25, p=0.001), 설명력은 6%였다. 자기효능감에 영향을 주는 요인은 건강정보 활용능력이며(β=0.42, p<0.001), 설명력은 17%였다. 자가간호행위에 영향을 주는 요인은 자기효능감(β=0.55, p<0.001), 건강정보활용능력(β=0.17, p=0.012), 운동(β=.14, p=0.022), 질병관련지식(β=.13, p<0.032)이었으며, 설명력은 49%였다. 건강정보 활용능력은 질병관련 지식, 자기효능감 및 자가간호행위와 유의한 관계가 있음이 확인되었으며, 향후 당뇨병 환자를 교육할 때 대상자의 수준에 맞는 건강정보 활용능력을 강화함으로써 질병관련지식, 자기효능감 및 자가간호행위를 증가시켜 합병증 예방 및 진행을 막아 건강증진에 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

The purposes of this study were to identify the levels of health literacy and to determine its impact on disease-related knowledge, self-efficacy and self-care behavior in patients with diabetes mellitus. As a result of regression analysis, health literacy predicted disease-related knowledge (β=0.25, p=0.001) and self-efficacy (β=0.42, p< 0.001), the explanatory power including self- efficacy (β=0.55, p<0.001), health literacy (β=0.17, p= 0.012), exercise (β=.14, p=0.022), disease-related knowledge (β=.13, p<0.032) as the variables significantly increasing the self-care behavior was 49%. These findings show that health care providers need to pay attention to patients with diabetes mellitus who have inadequate health literacy. Further, interventions to improve health literacy could promote disease-related knowledge self-efficacy and self-care behavior in patients with diabetes mellitus.
