성인초기 직장인의 D유형 성격, 우울과 사회적 지지

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 성인초기 직장인의 D유형 성격 분포와 우울, 사회적 지지의 수준을 파악하고, 제 변수들 간의 상관관계를 확인하기 위함이다. 자료 수집은 구조화된 설문지를 통해 성인초기의 직장인 312명으로부터 이루어졌으며, 수집 기간은 2012년 6월부터 9월까지였다. 대상자의 D유형 성격 분포는 33%였으며, D유형 성격 대상자의 부정적 정서와 사회적 제한의 평균은 15.84점, 13.64점이었다. 또한 성인초기 직장인의 우울과 사회적 지지 수준은 각각 43.14점과 54.34점이었으며, D유형과 D유형 성격이 아닌 대상자들 간에 우울(t=-8.860, p<.001)과 사회적 지지(t=7.131, p<.001)는 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. D유형 성격, 우울과 사회적 지지 간의 상관관계는 D유형 성격과 우울(r=.630, p<.001)은 순상관관계, D유형 성격과 사회적 지지(r=-.478, p<.001), 우울과 사회적 지지(r=-.466, p<.001)는 각각 역상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. D유형 성격 성향이 높을수록 우울 수준이 높고 사회적 지지가 낮은 점을 감안하여, 앞으로 건강관리 제공자들은 D유형 성격 대상자의 구체적인 특성 파악을 토대로 이들의 사회ㆍ심리적 건강을 추구하기 위한 다양한 방안에 관심을 가지며, 특히 이들의 인적 네트워크의 활성화를 통해 부정적 정서와 사회적 제한 수준을 낮출 수 있는 중재프로그램을 구축해야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to identify young adult workers’ population of type D personality and the degree of depression and social support, and also to determine the relations among those variables. The data was collected from 312 young adult workers from June to September in 2012. The population of type D personality was 33%, and the ones of the degree of depression and social support were 43.14 and 54.34 respectively. Also, it was shown that there was a significant difference between depression (t=-8.860, p<.001) and social support (t=7.131, p<.001) among the subjects who had type D personality and the ones who didn’t. Meanwhile, it appeared that there was a positive relation between type D personality and depression (r=.630, p<.001), and a negative relation between depression and social support (r=-.466, p<.001). Considering the result that the workers who have higher degree of type D personality tend to be depressed more and to have lower social support, health care providers should pay attention to various measurements in order to support their psychosocial health based on the examination of their clients’ individual characters. More importantly, they should develop intervention programs that can reduce negative affectivity and social inhibition by actively utilizing their human networks.
