간호대학생의 노인에 대한 태도 영향요인

국문 초록

본 연구는 간호대학생의 노인에 대한 태도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하기 위해 시도된 서술적 조사연구이다. 2011년 7월 1일부터 2011년 12월 31일까지 4개 대학교의 간호대학생 1065명에게 구조화된 설문지를 이용하여 노인에 대한 태도 및 공감능력을 파악하였으며 결과는 다음과 같았다. 노인에 대한 태도는 82.38점(평점평균 4.12점)으로 중립적 범위에 있었으며 공감능력의 하위요인 중 관점수용 및 공감적관심과 상관관계가 있어 요인의 점수가 높을수록 태도가 긍정적이었다. 한편 노인에 대한 태도에 영향을 미치는 요인은 공감적관심, 노인간호 종사의향, 노인에 대한 관심정도, 과거 노인과 동거경험 유무, 평소 알고 지내는 노인 유무, 노인관련 자원봉사 경험 유무, 노인간호학 실습 경험 유무 등 7개의 변수가 확인되었으며 총 설명력은 10.4%이었다. 이상으로 노인과의 경험을 통한 공감적 이해 증진은 태도에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인임을 알 수 있었으므로 이후에는 노인과의 경험을 통해 공감적 이해를 증진시킬 수 있는 간호중재를 개발하고 이를 교과과정에 적용하여 그 효과를 평가할 필요가 있겠다.

영문 초록

This study is a descriptive survey study tried to identify the factors influencing the attitudes of the nursing students toward the elderly. From July 1, 2011 to December 31, 2011, 1065 nursing college students in four universities were surveyed with a structured questionnaire asking the characteristics of subjects, attitudes toward the elderly and the empathy. The attitude toward the elderly was 82.38 points (average 4.12), which is neutral. The attitude have correlation with perspective taking and empathic concern out of the empathy. On the other hand, to identify the variables influencing the attitude toward the elderly, multiple regression analysis was executed and it was found that seven variables such as empathetic concern, intention to engage in geriatric nursing, interest in geriatric nursing, experience in living with the elderly, whether to have an aged friend, whether to experience the aged related voluntary service, and whether to have gerontological nursing practice and the contribution ratio was 10.5%. Accordingly, the improvement of empathic understanding through the experiences in the aged is found to be the major factor influencing the attitude.
