국문 초록

본 연구는 IT산업의 산업내무역의 결정요인을 설명하기 위해 Linder 가설의 이론적 근거에 기초한다. Linder가 주장한 수요구조의 차이를 설명하는 요인으로 본 연구는 한국과 주요 OECD 국가 간 IT인프라 차이를 이용한다. 2000~2009년까지 IT산업 교역량 자료와 IT인프라의 차이를 일반화된 중력모형을 기반으로 패널데이터모형으로 실증분석을 하였다. 본 연구의 실증결과 IT산업의 인프라 차이는 Linder 가설이 주장하는 바와 같이 수평적 산업내무역과 역관계를 가지고 있으며, 수직적 산업내무역과는 정의 관계를 가진 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 실증분석 결과는 IT 산업에 있어서 교역국가 간 IT인프라 차이는 Linder 가설에서의 수요구조를 대표하는 변수로 작용함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study is based on the Linder hypothesis to explain the determinants of intra-industry trade of IT industry. This study uses a difference of IT infrastructure between Korea and OECD countries as a factor representing a difference of demand structure proposed by the Linder hypothesis. A trade volume data of IT industry for the 10-year period between 2000 and 2009 and a difference of IT infrastructure in the same period were analyzed empirically by panel data models based on a generalized gravity model. Our empirical study shows that the difference of IT infrastructure has inverse relations with horizontal intra-industry trade and has positive relations with vertical intra-industry trade as the Linder hypothesis suggests. The empirical evidences imply that the difference of IT infrastructure between trade countries in IT industry acts as a proxy for demand structure considered in the Linder hypothesis.
