단서의 감각양상에 따른 시각탐색과제 수행의 차이

국문 초록

본 연구는 시각 탐색과제 이전에 제시되는 단서의 양상이 과제 수행에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자, 시각, 청각, 시청각 단서를 제시하였을 때 표적자극의 탐색시간과 정확률을 측정하였다. 또한 다중 양상의 단서가 제시되는 조건에서 각 양상의 단서가 제공하는 정보가 서로 일치하지 않을 때 과제 수행에 미치는 영향도 탐색시간과 정확률을 통해 측정하였다. 그 결과, 시각과 청각 단서와 같이 단일한 양상의 단서가 제시된 조건보다 시청각 단서처럼 다중 양상의 단서가 제시된 조건에서 표적자극에 대한 탐색 시간이 빠른 것으로 나타났다. 이는 단일 양상의 정보보다 여러 양상의 정보가 제시되는 경우 인간이 보다 효율적으로 정보처리 할 수 있음을 시사하는 것이다. 또한 다중 양상의 단서가 제시되었을 때, 표적자극과 시각 단서가 일치하는 경우가 청각 단서가 일치하는 경우보다 더 빠른 반응이 나타났다. 이는 시각 단서가 청각 단서보다 국재화 수준이 높기 때문에 나타난 결과로 해석할 수 있다.

영문 초록

The study was to examine the effect of modality of cue, presented before visual search task, on task performance. We measured searching time of target(RT) and accuracy rate(AR) when visual, auditory, and visual-auditory cues were presented. In the task where multimodal cue was presented, we also measured RT and AR to examine the effect of incongruent information provided by each cue on the task performance. In experiment 1, we found that the searching of target in the single modal cue condition, such as visual and auditory cue condition, was slower than in the multimodal cue condition like visual-auditory cue condition. It is suggested that the multimodal information was processed more efficiently than the single modal information. In experiment 2, RT in the condition that the locations of target and visual cue were congruent was quicker than that in the condition that the locations of target and auditory cue were congruent. It could be explained that the level of spatial localization of visual cue was higher than that of auditory cue.
