아동의 낙관성, 내 외적 동기, 자기효능감 및 학업성취의 관계성

국문 초록

본 논문은 초등학생들을 대상으로 귀인에 기초한 낙관성, 내적동기, 외적 동기, 자기효능감 및 학업성취와의 관계를 살펴보고자 하였다. 먼저, 아동이 일상생활에서 경험할 수 있는 다양한 사건들에 대해 원인을 추론하게 하는 세 가지 귀인양식의 차원들이 아동의 내 외적동기, 자기효능감 및 학업성취에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 살펴보았다. 그 결과, 귀인의 불안정-안정차원과 특징적-전역적 차원이 내적동기와 외적동기에 영향을 미쳤고, 불안정-안정차원이 자기효능감에, 그리고 외부-내부차원과 불안정-안정차원이 학업성취에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 다음으로 아동의 낙관성점수의 중앙치를 기준으로 낙관성 상·하집단으로 구분하여 내적동기, 외적동기, 자기효능감 및 학업성취점수에서 차이가 있는지를 살펴보았다. 그 결과, 낙관성 상집단이 내적동기, 자기효능감, 및 학업성취점수에 높은 점수를 보여주었고 낙관성 하집단은 외적동기점수에서만 높은 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 낙관성, 내적동기(외적동기), 자기효능감 및 학업성취에 관한 경로모형을 검증한 결과, 낙관성이 내적동기(외적동기)에 가는 경로, 내적동기가 자기효능감에 가는 경로, 자기효능감이 학업성취에 가는 경로가 모두 유의하였다. 다만, 낙관성이 외적동기, 외적동기가 자기효능감에 가는 경로만이 부적으로 유의미하게 나타났다.

영문 초록

For identifying the relationships among children s optimism, motivation, self-efficacy, and academic achievement, the present study examined the effects of three dimensions of attributional style, which makes inference the causes of various events that children experience in everyday life, on their internal and external motivations, self-efficacy, and academic achievement. 340 elementary students were asked to complete Attributional Style Questionnaire, Work Preference Inventory, and Self-efficacy Questionnaire. The results showed that the stable-unstable and the specific-global dimensions of attribution had effects on their internal and external motivations, the stable-unstable dimension on self-efficacy, and the internal-external and the stable-unstable dimensions on academic achievement. Next, the study examined differences between high optimistic and low optimistic groups, based on median of optimism scores, in internal and external motivations, self-efficacy, and academic achievement. The results showed that high optimistic group obtained higher scores in internal motivation, self-efficacy, and academic achievement than those of low optimistic group. Finally, a path analysis showed that the direct effect of optimism on academic achievement through the internal/external motivation and self-efficacy was significant.
