바흐친 카니발리즘을 통한 축제 속 공연 분석

국문 초록

본 논문의 목적은 카니발리즘을 통해서 춘천국제마임축제의 재현 방법을 탐구해보는 것이었다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해서 본 연구는 난장(혼돈과 무질서의장면)의 개념과 구속하지 않음과 자유를 대변하는 미하일 바흐친의 카니발리즘의 개념을 적용하였다. 사회적 제의와 전통적인 공연 스타일로서 난장은 일반 대중의 삶 속에서 세대를 거치면서 자연스럽게 전승되어져왔다. 난장과 카니발리즘은 떠들썩하게 논다는 공통점을 지니고 있다. 카니발은 일상의 삶과 공식적인 체제로부터 일시적인 해방감을 경험하는 축제이다. 춘천국제마임축제에서는 다양한 카니발리즘의 요소들을 확인할 수 있었다. 첫째, 친숙함은 갈등의 표출로 드러났고, 둘째, 기이함은 통합된 공간의 형태로, 셋째, 메잘리앙스는 창조적 미학의 형태로 나타났으며, 넷째, 비속화는 평등에 대한 인식으로 재현되었다. 결론적으로 난장과 카니발리즘은 공연 예술가들과 관광객들의 긍정적 주체성을 회복시키는 소통 방식이었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper was to investigate the reappearance method of Chuncheon International Mime Festival through Carnivalism. To accomplish this purpose, the paper applied the concept of Nanjang(a scene of confusion and disorder) and Mikhail Bakhtin’s Carnivalism which present the unrestraint and liberty. As a social sacrificial rite and an inherent traditional performance style, Nanjang has been naturally handed down through the ages in the life of common people. Nanjang and Carnivalism have a common point of merrymaking. Carnival is a festival temporarily liberated from an everyday of life and a formal regime. The various elements of carnivalism were shown in Chuncheon International Mime Festival. The components of Carnivalism are as follows. First, familiarization: the expression of conflict. Second, eccentricity: the integrated space. Third, messalliance: the creative aesthetic. fourth, profanation: the realization of equality. In conclusion, Nanjang and Carnivalism are the way of recovering the positive subjectivity of players and visitors.
