대학생 멘토가 역할 수행 과정에 겪는 어려움에 관한 질적연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 취약계층 아동을 위한 정서지원 멘토링 프로그램에 참여한 대학생 멘토가 역할 수행 과정에서 겪는 어려운 점에 대해 심층적으로 알아보는데 그 목적이 있었다. 이를 위해 정서지원 멘토링 프로그램에서 멘토로 활동한 경험이 1년 이상인 10명의 대학생 멘토를 대상으로 5명씩 2그룹으로 나누어 FGI를 진행하였다. 수집된 자료는 지속적 비교방법을 통하여 분석되어 4개의 범주와 12개의 하위범주로 도출되었다. 4가지 범주는 ‘맨토 요인’, ‘멘티 요인‘,‘실제 현장에서의 딜레마’, ‘제도적 요인’으로 분석되었으며, 첫 번째 범주인 ‘멘토 요인’의 하위범주는 ‘멘토로서 역할 기대의 불일치’. ‘멘토로서의 페르조나’, ‘멘토 역할 수행 중 느낀 회의감’으로, 두 번째 범주인 ‘멘티 요인’의 하위범주는 ‘젠더(gender)가 다른 멘티’, ‘어색한 첫 만남과 마음 문 늦게 여는 느림보 멘티’, ‘철없고 비자발적인 멘티’로, 세 번째 범주인 ‘실제현장의 딜레마의 하위범주는 ‘막막함’, ‘1:2 멘토링’, ‘모호한 멘티 선발기준’으로 구성되었다. 마지막으로 ‘제도적 요인’에서는 ‘멘티 연계의 지속성과 정보제공의 아쉬움’, ‘편성되지 않은 활동지원 비용과 고려되지 않은 실제 소요시간’,‘지원되지 않은 멘토 교육과 포괄적인 지침서’로 나타났다. 그리고 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 대학생 멘토를 위한 지원 체계 개선방향에 대한 기초적 소견을 제시 하였다.

영문 초록

This study is to analyze difficult things which a college student found during his mentoring for the emotional support of low income children by college student mentoring program. For this purpose, over 10 collage students, who have more than a year of mentoring experience, have a FGI to five each in 2 groups divided by 5 workers . Data is derived into 4 categories and 12 categories. 4 categories are ‘Mantor factor , Mantee factor , Dilemma in actual place , and Institution factor . The subcategories of first factor, Mantor factor , are ‘Mismatch of expectations as a mentor , ‘Persona required as a mentor , Skepticism as a mentor , The subcategories of ‘Mentee factor ’are ‘Other gender mentee , ‘an awkward first meeting and mentee who open his/her mind slowly , and ‘Mentee who is immature and acts passively . In ‘Dilemma in actual place are‘Desolation , ‘1:2 mentoring and vague standards of selecting mentees . Finally, in Institution factor are Sustain ability of mentee program and lack of infomation , Not supporting costs and considered real hours and ‘Not supported mento education and diffuse guidline of the activity . Based on the result of our study, we suggest basic needs for improvement in support collage student mentors.
