황동규 시의 변모 양상 연구

국문 초록

황동규는 ‘새로움’과 ‘거듭남’을 시학의 요체로 삼으며 시쓰기가 삶의 실천임을 온몸으로 입증해 온 시인이다. 이 논문은 황동규의 시세계의 변모를 살펴보며 삶과 세계 사이에서 시쓰기로 세계에 대응하는 황동규의 시적 방법론을 고찰하고 있다. 황동규는 ‘변화’와 ‘새로움’을 지향하며 이전의 성과를 계승 발전시키며 새로운 요소를 담아내는 시적 방법론을 보여주고 있다. 그는 ‘새로움’과 ‘거듭남’을 통해 부단한 시적 갱신과 다양한 진폭의 시를 보여주며 시쓰기와 삶의 관계를 재조절하는 시적 태도를 드러내고 있다. 이러한 시적 태도는 ‘삶의 구체성’에 기반하지 않는 문학은 의미가 없다는 그의 시학에서 비롯되며 곧 그의 시를 관통하고 있는 철학이라 할 수 있다. 황동규는 시작 초기에 恨의 극복과 사랑의 재인식이라는 명제로 출발하여 상징과 알레고리의 결합 방식을 통해 일상적인 삶과 초월적인 것의 합일을 추구하는 시세계를 보여주고 있다. 이후 극서정시의 도입과 여행모티브를 적극적으로 활용하며 이전의 성과를 계승 발전시킨다. 이러한 시적 변모는 최근 일상과 대화함으로써 삶을 성찰하는 일상의 재발견으로 이어지고 있다. 황동규는 언제나 일상의 삶에서 출발하여 일상과 대화하고 자연과 교감하고 시와 대화한다. 일상의 삶과 개인의 내면을 결합시키는 문제는 황동규의 오래된 시작 과정이다. 일상의 세계를 섬세한 촉수로 관찰하고 생을 관조하는 가운데서 느끼는 삶의 열정은 버림의 미학으로 나아가고 있다. 그는 자신이 세상으로부터 퇴각하여 숨어들 수 있는 내적 은신처에 안주하기를 거부하고 어떻게 해서든 늘 세상 한복판에서 부대끼며 고민하는 삶을 살아왔음을 피력하고 있다. 황동규의 시에서 하나하나씩 줄여나가는 버림의 미학은 고통 속으로 들어가 고통을 벗어나는 길이며, 쓰라리고 아픈 것은 쓰라리고 아픈 대로 그냥 받아들이는 것이다. 버리는 것, 외로움이나 쓰라림은 진정한 삶의 부속물일 뿐이라는 인식이다. 비움의 미학은 고통은 고통대로 그저 내버려두면서 자연스럽게 얻게 되는 일상적 삶에 더욱 열정을 쏟게 하는 것이다. 삶을 하나의 연극이고 여행이라고 할 때, 황동규의 비움 혹은 버림의 미학은 긴 여정 가운데 발견하게 되는 일상 속의 자신이며, ‘무아(無我)’가 ‘진아(眞我)’임을 깨우치는 과정과도 같다. 이러한 일상의 재발견이 우리의 자동화된 감각을 다시 변화시킴으로써 우리의 삶에 작지만 커다란 생의 재발견이 된다는 점에서 황동규는 삶과 세계를 기반으로 하는 시세계를 보인다고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

Hwang, Dong-gyu is a poet who proved a proposition that writing poetry was a life thinking that ‘Freshness’ and ’Rebirth was a main point of poetics. This paper examined Hwang, Dong-gyu’s poetic methodology which responded to the world as a writing poet between a life and the world checking his changes of poetic words. Hwang, Dong-gyu showed a poetic methodology which put new materials in fostering previous outcomes pursuing ‘Change’ and ‘Freshness’. He revealed a poetic attitude to readjust a relationship between writing poetry and life showing constant poetic renewals and various poetic postures through ‘Freshness’ and ’Rebirth . These poetic attitudes were based on his poetics that there was no meaning the literature on the no basis of concreteness of life, and were his philosophy in his poetic worlds. Hwang, Dong-gyu showed his poetic worlds which pursued a unity of everyday life and a transcendental thing through a work in combination with symbols and allegories starting a proposition of ‘overcoming regrets and reminding loves’ in the beginning. After that, he inherited and developed previous results introducing dramatic poetry and making positively use of a motif of travel. His poetic changes was recently connected to ‘Rediscovery of Everydayness’ which reflected on his life talking to his daily life. Hwang, Dong-gyu communicated with his daily life, communed with nature and talked with poetry always starting to everyday life. Issues combining a daily life with an individual inner side was his long starting process. His passion in life, amid observing the life with his subtle tentacles and contemplating his life, was headed for aesthetics of forsaking He expressed that he had lived to constantly agonize his life in the center of world rejecting living his life in the inner hideout which was going to conceal hisself from his real world. Aesthetics of forsaking in Hwang, Dong-gyu’s poetry was a way to escape a torment entering the torment and was to accept the pain as it is. He thought that throwing away, being loneliness and being soreness were adjuncts in a genuine life. Aesthetics of forsaking make people passionate in their everyday life which is coming naturally living the agony as it is. When a life is a play and journey, Hwang, Dong-gyu’s emptying or aesthetics of forsaking was oneself of everyday life found in the middle of long journey of life and was the process that an absent ego realized a true ego. Hwang, Dong-gyu seems to show his poetry world based on his life and world in terms of becoming a rediscovery of big life in our small life by re-changing our automated sense through these daily rediscoveries.
