단군연구의 철학사적 전개와 전망

국문 초록

본 논문은 기존의 단군연구 가운데 철학사상적 성향을 띈 사례를 살펴보고 앞으로 전계 될 단군연구의 방향을 제시하는데 그 목적이 있다. 단군연구가 본격적으로 행해진 시기는 일제강점기이다. 이 시기는 일본학자들에 의해 우리의 고유한 문화역사사상 등이 훼손당하고 왜곡되어졌다. 특히 민족의 전통성에 상징이라 할 수 있는 단군에 대한 체계적인 부정을 통해 민족의 근본부터 흔들고자했다. 하지만 최남선이나 신채호 같은 당시의 지식인들은 일본 학자의 주장을 정면으로 반박하고 단군과 민족의 정통성을 지키고자 노력했다. 이들은 정통성을 지키기 위해 역사철학언어학문화인류학 등의 다양한 인문학적 방법론을 도구로 사용하여 새로운 학설과 가설을 제시하였다. 이들의 이러한 노력은 단군연구를 인문학적 범주 속에 포함시켰으며, 광복이후 단군연구에 관한 기초토대를 제공하였다. 광복이후 단군연구는 민족의 정체성 확립이라는 공통의 목적이 사라지고, 연구자 각자의 경향이 반영되는 형태로 바뀌었다. 하지만 여전히 단군은 민족의 상징적 코드로 자리하였다. 광복이후 단군연구는 크게 종교적 접근과 사상적 접근으로 나눌 수 있다. 종교적 접근의 경우 크리스트교적 접근과 무교(巫敎)적 접근으로 다시 나눌 수 있는데 논자는 무교적 접근이 인문종교와 매우 유사함을 지적하고자 한다. 그 밖에 한(Han)의 철학, 풍류적 접근 등의 사상적 접근도 또한 단군연구의 다른 접근형태이다. 이들 연구들을 종합적으로 분석한 결과 이들 주장에 흐르는 하나의 공통점을 발견할 수 있는데 그것은 바로 조화이다. 이 때문에 논자는 기존 연구들을 하나로 통합 할 수 있는 조화를 단군연구의 핵심에 두어야 함을 주장한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to suggest the direction of the study on Dangun(founding father of Gojoseon) direction developed in future by investigating the cases having philosophy and ideological tendencies among existing researches on Dangun. The time to conduct Dangun research in earnest is Japanese colonial rule. During this period, Korean unique culture, history, ideology, etc were undermined and distorted by Japanese scholars. Especially, they tried to perverted the root of the nationality through systematic negation about Dangun who was a symbol of national legitimacy. The intellectuals of the time like Choe Nan-seon, Sin Cae-ho refuted Japanese scholars’ claims and tried to keep Dangun and national legitimacy. They purposed new theories and hypotheses using various humanistic methodologies such as history, philosophy, linguistics, cultural anthropology, etc to keep national legitimacy. These efforts made Dangun research be included in the humanities category, and provided the basis of the foundation on Dangun study after Independence. In the Dangun research after Independence, the common purpose to establish national legitimacy was disappeared, it was changed into the forms each researcher’s tendency reflected on. However, Dangun was still the symbolic code of the nation. Dangun research after Independence could be largely divided into religious approach and ideological approach. In the case of religious approach, it was separated into Christian approach and no religious approach and this researcher would like to point out atheist approach was similar to humanities and religion. Ideological approach such as Han philosophy, poetical approach, ideological approach, etc also was a different approach form on Dangun study. As a result of the comprehensive analysis on these researches, this researcher found one common thing about these claims and it was the harmony. Because of this, this researcher insists that the harmony to integrate existing studies as one should be at the core of Dangun study.
