국문 초록

소위 포스트휴먼 시대, 인공지능 시대 혹은 제4차 산업혁명의 시대가 도래하고 있다는 소식이 우리 주변에 범람하고 있다. ‘포스트-휴먼’시대란 ‘인간-이후’의 시대를 가리키는 것으로, 여기서 ‘포스트-’(post-)라는 접두어는 생물학적 인간의 ‘종말’이라기보다는 생물학적 기제에 기반한 인간이 인공지능과 네트워크 그리고 가상현실 증강 기술 등의 도움으로 새로운 디지털적 존재로 변모하고 있다는 자각을 의미한다. 이런 시대에 생물학적 개체로서의 인간 이해에 근거한 교육 과정, 그리고 그것에 근거한 지금의 교육 체계는 더 이상 유효하지 않게 되었다. 그뿐만 아니라 지금까지 인간을 규정해 왔던 정의와 개념들이 ‘기계와 공생’하며, ‘연장된 정신’(extended mind)의 형태로 살아가는 포스트휴먼 시대에는 더 이상 인간에 대한 적절한 정의가 아닐 때, 우리의 교육은 총체적인 위기에 빠져들게 된다. 따라서 다가오는 포스트휴먼 시대의 가장 긴급하고 혁신적인 과제는 교육 혁명이 될 것이다. 근대적 주체의 해체 및 종말과 함께 등장한 포스트휴머니즘이 인간 중심적, 계몽주의적 휴머니즘 전통을 극복하려는 시도 중 하나라면, 포스트휴먼 시대의 인간은 무엇이며, 어떤 존재가 될 것인가? 우리가 여전히 인간이라고 말할 수 있는 인간의 조건은 무엇일까? 포스트휴머니즘이 ‘휴먼의 종말’이 아니라, ‘특정한 휴먼 개념의 종말’을 의미하는 것이라면, 포스트휴먼 시대에 새롭게 주목받게 될 휴먼 개념은 무엇일까? 이러한 문제 제기와 함께 본 논문에서는 근대적 휴머니즘을 넘어선 포스트휴먼의 현상들 속에서 주체의 의미를 고찰하고자 하며, ‘타자(他者)의 주체성’과 ‘혼종성’을 계몽주의적 이원론과 자유주의적 휴머니즘을 넘어서는 포스트휴먼의 새로운 인간 조건으로서 다루고자 한다. 그리고 이어서 디지털 데이터 사회에서 포스트휴먼을 위한 교육과 그 교육의 가능성을 탐구하면서, ‘데이터 리터러시’(data literacy)와 ‘역설계’(reverse engineering)를 제안하고자 한다. 포스트휴먼에게 필요한 것은 스마트 기기를 통해 생성되고 공유되는 데이터를 적절하게 활용하면서도 다른 한편으로는 자신의 지극히 개인적인 감정과 생체리듬을 과도하게 폭로하지 않을 수 있는 능력, 한 마디로 ‘데이터 리터러시’를 기르고, 동시에 이 데이터 리터러시를 바탕으로 주어진 기술을 자신에게 맞게 ‘역설계

영문 초록

The news has been overflowing around us that the so-called the posthuman age, the age of artificial intelligence, or the fourth industrial revolution is coming near. The posthuman age literally points to an age ‘after’ human beings. Here, one should be careful to recognize that the prefix ’post-‘ does not refer to the end of biological human being but to the radical transition of the biological mechanism of human being into a new digital being through new technologies such as artificial intelligence, networking and augmentation of virtual reality. Along with these state-of-art technologies, which now are changing human nature itself, one can predict that the current education system and curriculums, which have derived from the modern understanding of human being as a biological organization of individual, will not be effective any longer, given that our definition and concept of human being as individual cannot be applied to the posthuman being who live as part of symbiotic life community with machines and whose mind is extended over physical and digital material. In this context, the issue of education is brought into relief, for this transition of human nature means the crisis of education, given that the human nature, which has been the targeted goal of the modern education system, will be drastically changed. It is the most prominent and imminent task in the coming posthuman age that is the issue of educational revolution, unless education would collapse into a total break-down due to the change. Who will be the new being in the posthuman age or what kind of being will human being become in such a age, if the posthumanism has been an attempt to overcome the Enlightenment anthropocentric tradition of humanism along with the end and dissolution of the modern subject?
