국문 초록

본 논문은 AI의 인식론적 문제점들을 살펴보고, 그러한 문제점을 내포하고 있는 AI가 사회의 가치관과 세계관, 교육과 교육 현장을 지배하게 되는 AI 시대를 예측하며, 이 시대 기독교 교육의 의미 및 과제에 대해 생각해 보는 논문이다. 따라서 본고는 크게 세 부분으로 구성되는 데, 첫째, ‘AI 발달사’, 둘째, ‘AI 인식과 인간 인식론의 비교’, 셋째, ‘AI 시대의 기독교 교육’이다. AI는 세 가지의 물결이라고 칭해지는 발달사를 거쳐 왔는데, 현재는 두 번째 물결에서 세 번째 물결로 넘어가는 시점에 있다. “세 번째 물결 AI”의 완성은 ‘강 인공 지능’(Strong AI)이요 ‘일반적 인공 지능’(AGI)인데 이것은 인간과 똑같은 사고를 하고, 인간처럼 마음(mind)을 갖게 된다는 것이다. 그러나 본고는 인간의 인식과 AI의 인식이 같을 수 없다는 것을 ‘뇌 이론’, ‘몸을 통한 인식’, 그리고 ‘상황성’이라고 하는 세 가지의 관점에서 비교하였다. 그리고 본고는 인간의 사고를 모방하며 시작한 AI가 인간과 같이 생각하지 못하는 것이 그대로 AI 인식론의 한계요 문제점으로서 나타나는 것을 발견하였다. 그것은 “비통전적 사고”, “비인격적 사고”, 그리고 “비상황적 사고”로서, 극간의 “객관주의”적 사고라고 할 수 있다. 마지막으로 본고는 이러한 AI 인식론이 사회와 교육에 미치는 부정적 영향에 대해, ‘통전성’, ‘인격성’, ‘관계성’을 지향하는 기독교 교육이 대안이 되어야 함을 주장한다.

영문 초록

This paper examines the epistemological problems of AI, and predicts the AI age. AI will potentially dominate society’s values, world view, education and educational field. In this context the paper will offer thoughts on the meaning of Christian education. Therefore, this article consists of three major parts: first, ‘AI’s developmental history’, second, ‘epistemology of AI and human being are compared’, third, ‘Christian education in AI age’. AI has gone through a developmental history called the “Three Waves”, which is now at the point of transition from the second wave to the third. The completion of the “Third Wave AI” is called “Strong AI” and “General Artificial Intelligence”(AGI), which means thinking in the same ways as human beings do and having a ‘mind’ like a human being. However, this study argues that human perception and AI perception are not the same, comparing them from three perspectives, namely ‘brain theory’, ‘body perception’ and ‘situationality’. It also finds that AI epistemology, which started by imitating human thought, cannot completely resemble human thought. Rather, its has limits and problems such as a ‘non-wholistic thought’, a ‘non-personal thought’, and a ‘non-contextual thought’ which are summarized in extreme objectivism. Finally, this study insists that Christian education which is oriented in its epistemology to a ‘wholistic view’, ‘personality’ and ‘relationality’ should be an alternative to the negative effects of AI epistemology on society and education.
