한국 서사민요 디지털 아카이빙을 위한 서사분석 방법과 모형

국문 초록

이 연구는 서사민요 디지털 아카이브의 토대를 마련하기 위하여, 한국 및 영미·유럽 서사민요 분석 방법론을 검토한 뒤 이를 바탕으로 디지털 아카이빙을 위한 서사민요 분석 방법과 모형을 고찰하였다. 그 결과 기존 한국 및 영미·유럽 서사민요 분석과 디지털 아카이빙의 경우 서사민요의 유형 분류나 각편의 개별 모티프 분석 중 어느 한쪽에 치우쳐 있어 만족할 만한 성과에 이르지 못했음을 밝혔다. 따라서 효과적인 서사민요 디지털 아카이빙을 위해서 서사민요의 서사 원리를 바탕으로 한 분석 단위로 서사단락을 설정하고, 서사분석의 방법과 모형을 <강실도령 노래>를 바탕으로 제시하였다. 서사단락은 각기 독립적으로 연행될 수 있는 최소의 서사단위로서, 그 결합양상을 ‘기대(A) - 고난(B) - 해결의 시도 (C) - 좌절(D) - 해결(E)’이라는 단락소에 따라 구분한다. 이렇게 구분된 각 서사단락은 디지털 아카이브 시스템에서 검색이 간편하게 이루어질 수 있도록 서사단락을 구성하는 핵심사건과 보조사건, 보조 상황을 잘 드러낼 수 있는 주제어를 추출해 표기한다. 유형은 주인물과 상대인물의 관계에 따라 인물관계를 결정하고, 서사단락 중 그 유형만이 가지고 있는 고유단락에 따라 판별한다. 이 연구에서 마련한 서사분석의 방법과 모형, 주제어 체계는 차후 서사민요 디지털 아카이브의 토대를 마련하는 데 기여할 수 있으리라 본다.

영문 초록

This study examines the methods and models of analyzing Korean narrative songs for digital archiving based on this method. As a result, it was revealed that the existing narrative analysis methods and digital archiving of Korean narrative songs and Anglo-American & European ballads did not achieve satisfactory results due to either the type classification of narrative songs or the analysis of individual motifs of each piece. Therefore, this study sets narrative paragraph as an analysis unit based on the narrative principle of narrative songs for effective digital archiving, and presents method and model of narrative analysis. A narrative paragraph is the minimum narrative unit that can be carried out independently. The narrative paragraphs are divided into five units: Expectation (A) - Suffering (B) - Attempt to solve (C) - Frustration (D) - Solution (E) , according to the function of each paragraph. In addition, each narrative paragraph is described into two parts: a core event and several auxiliary events that constitute a narrative episode, and key words that can reveal meaning of the events in order to facilitate retrieval in the digital archive system. Lastly, the type of narrative songs is determined by the character relation based on the relationship between the main character and the opponent, and distinguished according to the unique narrative paragraph shared by only that narrative song type. The methods and models of narrative analysis including the key words system prepared in this study could contribute to the foundation of future Korean narrative song digital archive.
