국문 초록

우리나라의 대표적 전쟁 영웅은 이순신이다. 이순신도 장기간 여론의 검증을 거쳐 우리민족의 영웅이 되었다. 그러나 여타 영웅과는 달리 이순신의 검증 과정은 길고 지루한 절차를 거쳤다. 그 과정에서 이순신과 원균간의 군공 우열론, 전투 결과 보고의 眞僞問題, 선조의 執權慾, 그리고 시대적 가치관이 군공평가에 반영되어 이순신과 원균이 나란히 선무一等功臣에 오르게 되었다. 본고는 시대에 따라 이순신. 원균 양인에 대한 평가가 시대 상황과 시대적 가치관 에 따라그 평가를 달리했음을 살펴보려고 하였다.

영문 초록

Yi Sun-Sin is the most famous war hero in Korea. He had become a national hero throughout longtime test of public opinion. Unlike the other heroes, Yi Sun-Sin had to take a series of long and boring process of selection. Those process included the comparison of Yi Sun-Sin and Won Gyun, the true-false question of the after battle reports, and the ambition of the king Seonjo had much influenced on the result of the military distinguished service. Finally, Yi Sun-Sin and Won Gyun had received the first class distinguished service medal. As time went on, the people showed the more respect to Yi Sun-Sin, on the contrary, the people downgraded Won Gyun as loser or coward. This paper is designed to discuss what makes those differences depending on public opinion and national objectives of the ages. Historically, the appraisal valuation of the two person had been changed depending on political situation of the country.
