고등학교 ‘음악과 생활’ 교과서에 제시된 토론 논제의 내용과 적합성에 대한 논의

국문 초록

본 연구는 고등학교 ‘음악과 생활’ 교과서에 제시된 토론 논제의 내용과 적합성을 분석함으로써 음악수업에서 활용되고 있는 토론 논제의 문제점을 진단하고 개선방 향을 모색하려는 데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 고등학교 ‘음악과 생활’ 교과서 10종 의 토론 논제를 조사하고, 토론 논제들의 적합성을 판단하기 위해 대립성, 단일성, 중립성, 구체성, 자료의 충분성, 난이도, 흥미와 관심도를 분석하였다. 논제의 내용분 석은 2009 개정 고등학교 「음악과 생활」교육과정을 준거로 하였으며 토론의 소재 로 활용된 악곡 및 활동을 중심으로 분석하였다. 그 결과 대부분의 음악교과 토론 논제는 중립적인 조건이 만족되었던 반면 대립 성은 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 즉 음악교과의 토론 논제들은 가치 편향적이지 않고 중 립성을 갖고 있었지만 찬반대립의 쟁점이 없거나 혹은 명확하지 않아 토론 논제로 서의 기본 요건이 충족되지 않고 있었다. 내용적으로는 음악과 관련된 사회적 현상 을 많이 다루고 있었고, 국악, 대중음악, 영화음악, 뮤지컬 음악 등과 관련된 음악적 소재가 토론의 매개로 활용되고 있었다. 즉 음악수업을 위한 토론 논제를 선정할 때 에는 논제로서의 적합성을 충분히 고려해야하며, 음악교과의 특성에 맞는 토론 학습 내용 및 방법이 지속적으로 개발되어야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examined the topics of discussion activities in music textbook, and the musical contents used as discussion topics and the appropriateness of these topics in the music textbook were analyzed. From this, The issues with the discussion topics used in the music textbook were examined and ways to rectify them in the future were presented. For this purpose, discussion topics from 10 types of the high school textbook Music and Life were examined and analyzed according to seven elements of suitability - conflict, unity, neutrality, specificity, sufficiency of data, difficulty, interest and attention - and according to the degree of their appropriateness as discussion topics. Additionally, music scores and activities used as contents of discussion topics were analyzed based on the revised 2009 edition curriculum of Music and Life. As a result, it became evident that the majority of discussion topics used in discussion activities of Music and Life had the neutrality element; however, it lacked the conflict element. This means that most discussion topics were stated objectively and specifically, but there was neither a clear nor single point of conflict to delineate pro or con position, presented inappropriately for discussion topics. Regarding musical contents related to discussion topics, a great deal of social elements related to music was used, such as traditional Korean music, pop music, film music, and musical theatre. Considering the above, it is necessary to consider the appropriateness of discussion topics when selecting and presenting discussion topics for the music class, as well as to continuously develop discussion topic contents and methods that are appropriate to the music curriculum, based on this knowledge.
