국문 초록

2008 대입정책은 교육의 중심축을 사교육이 아닌 학교로 환원시키기 위해서 내신 비중을 높이고 수능등급제를 도입하였다. 주요 대학들은 수능등급제로 인한 학생변 별력 약화를 우려하면서 정시에서 논술비중을 높이겠다고 발표하였다. 이러한 대입 전형의 변화들이 논술 사교육에 어떠한 영향을 미쳤는지를 입시학원관계자와의 면 담을 통해서 조사하였다. 정부는 논술전형이 선다형 시험으로는 평가하기 어려운 비 판적 분석적 종합적 사고력을 평가할 수 있다고 하였다. 하지만 대학들은 평가의 객 관성을 위해서 긴 하나의 논설문을 요구하기보다 짧게 몇 문제로 나누어 답을 쓰거 나 요약을 하게 하였다. 이러한 출제 경향에 대하여 학원에서는 짧은 시간에 “훈련” 을 통해서 점수를 올릴 수 있는 형태라서 가르치기 더욱 편하다고 인식했다. 현재까 지 유사한 출제 경향이 지속되고 있고, 학교에서는 논술고사에 큰 도움을 주지 못하 는 실정이라서 학생들의 사교육 의존이 매우 높다. 이는 사교육 지출이 가능한 집단 에게 유리한 상황이 된다. 따라서 대학과 정부에서 이 점을 고려하여 논술전형을 개 선할 필요가 있다

영문 초록

In the 2008 college admission policy, increase in the proportion of high school academic records and classification of scholastic achievement test records in university entrance procedure was introduced in the intention to bring the core of education back into school grounds. In response to this policy changes, the major universities have announced to increase the proportion of essay writing examinations, in concern of the difficulty that might rise in distinguishing students of high academic abilities from those who are not. Through an interview with a person occupied in university entrance private institute industry, the influence that changes in educational policy has on the essay writing private institute industry has been investigated. The government has claimed that universities may utilize essay writing examinations as a complement of the multiple-choice academic achievement exam, which is not a sufficient tool to measure the critical, creative, and logical thinking abilities of students. However, the voice of private institutes insists that the ability of writing logical essays may be improved to a certain level, though it not something that can be improved in a short period, and the key to the secret was problem-solving skills . Also, the recent tendency of essay writing exam questions are more convenient to those in the industry since question forms that require writing short answers to several questions or summarizing the article rather than those that require writing a long essay are forms that can enable a rise of exam scores in a relatively short period through training . The educational meaning and the policy task of this phenomenon in the private institute industry has been discussed in the conclusion part of this article.
