국문 초록

현재 우리 사회는 급속하게 다문화 사회로 변모하고 있다. 이에 따라 학교 현장에서는 다문화학습자와 일반학습자가 공존하게 되는데, 이러한 현실에서 국어 교육이 부담해야 하는 과제는 더욱 무거워 진다고 할 수 있다. 국어 교육에서 ‘문법’ 은 우 리말의 원리와 구조뿐만 아니라 우리말의 문화를 다루는 점에서 의사소통의 기저를이루는 만큼 다문화 시대에서 문법 교육의 방향은 무엇인지 마련해 둘 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 다문화 사회에서의 문법 교육의 방향을 제안하는 것이다. 이를 위한 주요 논의는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 다문화 시대의 언어 교육적 요구에 부합하는 문법 교육이 어떠한지 살펴본다. 즉, 다문화 시대의 교육적 요구를 알아보고 다문화 시대에 서의 문법 교육의 역할을 탐색하는 것이다. 둘째, 다문화 시대의 관점에서 바라본문법 교육의 한계를 교육과정과 교과서를 통해 비판적으로 고찰한다. 셋째, 이상의 논의를 바탕으로 다문화 사회에서의 문법 교육의 방향을 다음과 같이 제안한다. 문 법 지식을 통한 언어적 차이의 극복을 실현하는 문법 교육, 문화 자료를 통한 다문화학습자의 삶에 주목하는 문법 교육, 다문화의 통일성이 아닌 상생성을 추구하는문법 교육이다.

영문 초록

The Korean society is currently in the midst of rapid change to that of a multi-cultural one. Accordingly, multi-cultural learners and average learners coexist in school settings, and the weight that the Korean language education faces under such conditions is becoming more significant. There must be a definite directional course in which ‘grammar’ in Korean language education is seeking to take, not simply as a field that handles the principles and structures of the Korean language but also the cultures of the language in order to set the way grammar will be taught in the current multi-cultural age, as it is a foundation for communication. This study proposes the direction in which grammar education should take in a multi-cultural society. The main assertions for this is as follows. First, an inquiry must be made into what is proper grammatical eduction that is fit for language educational demands in a multi-cultural age. In other words, we must find what the educational demands are in a multi-cultural society and seek out what the role of grammar eduction should be in a multi-cultural age. Second, a critical look must be made into what the limitations of grammar education in current curriculum and textbooks are from a multi-cultural societal perspective. Third, the following course of direction for grammar education in a multi-cultural society is proposed based on the above assertions. Grammar education that overcomes language differences through grammatical knowledge, grammar education that focuses on the multi-cultural learner’s life through cultural data, and grammar education that pursues multi-cultural coexistence instead of uniformity.
